Assuming that Lowry and a 14 lands you the 5th pick which lands you Drummond, then you are giving up Drummond and whoever you get at 16 for a 1 year Howard rental.

    Good point.

That said, if you look at the timeline and confluence of events, a conspiracy theorist (or a good analyst lacking naivete) could easily come to the conclusion that Dwight has wanted to come to Houston and sign all along.(look at all this in the press as propaganda) Perhaps the two parties (Rockets and Dwight) have been walking a high wire to avoid tampering charges. The way the Howard saga has unfolded, I'm beginning to think this is where we are.

Again, I'd much rather see the rebuild, just sayin ......

I was thinking similarly, except in a more literal sense -Westbrook or Ibaka/Harden for Howard...

We should be looking to do the OKC thing and move Lowry, Martin, and Scola. We need talent and I don't want a bad back Dwight Howard. I just rewatched the finals and the best players were at the 1, 2, 3, and 4. Right now our 1, 2, 3, and 4 are average compared to the championship contenders.

What if morey Target is bynum? He would sign back here while dwight is a low chance but would sign back in la. We can do a 3 team trade in which the drummond pick, Martin and 16 go to orlando, dwight goes to la and bynum comes here.

Ok so we should tank for at least 3 seasons? Gotcha.

You had to rewatch the finals to realize that the heat did not have a center and therefor their strength was the four remaining positions?

I like your ideas Carl, but don't you think Orlando might want a little more than the package you proposed?

You aren't getting a sure-bet superstar with the 5th pick.

Who knows what this cat will want to do. Howard is a flake who stabs his coach in the back.

and if he is traded here, he most likely will become a free agent and give a half-heated effort. Yet, Clutch fans are dying for such a person.

I bet Orlando tries to dump some the overpaid garbage like JJ Redick, JRich, or Jameer Nelson.

    Trade for Dwight Howard.

Get KG and Ray Allen on board for a discount.

    Win Championship.

    Celebrate.

I don't know if there is a better compliment to Dwight at PF than KG. He can spread the floor, doesn't need the paint to operate, and can play D.

KG and Dwight? Are you kidding me? I am down for this. But would KG want a discount to win a championship? He already got his....

If we somehow still have Kevin Martin, than we might as well just keep him just in case Dwight bolts out on us after next season. (Allen's new contract would be multi-year, while Kevin's is expiring)

If we get Dwight, than I will be one happy mother ****er. We will become automatic contenders. Would Morey still have work to do? Of course, but if there is one thing Morey can do, it is finding great role players at a great price.

Not me, and that might make an interesting poll.

Keep the two top ten picks or trade for Dwight?

Getting Dwight Howard makes it THAT MUCH easier to sign the KG's, Ray Allen's etc. The former superstar/stars/key vet's nearing the end of their career who have made a ton of money are sticking around for one reason and that's to win one ring or add to the collection.

The key is to get Dwight Howard here first and then the possibilities will become endless.
