Looks like we aren't getting Drummond.

Morey has never drafted a player that the media says we are going to draft.

I'm surprised nobody's talking about him. The man is clearly on Dragic's level. What's the word on him?

The only team I think will cockblock us from getting a 2nd top 10 team are the Cavs. I think they are pushing hard to get a 2nd top 10 pick too.

At least he showed the restraint to lose the 22 lbs.

I think his downside is DeAndre Jordan, which is still a starting center in the league (as is Javale McGee).

If the cost is Lowry+14, I'd do it.

Wrong. I think you are very confused. He doesn't want a trade to us, and everyone and their mom will tell us that he won't sign an extension, because he wants leverage. We're betting on the fact that he won't give up such a large amount of money. If we let him into the drivers seat, then we have already lost. This trade, if it happens, will be a gamble in the purest sense of the word.

This is going to be anther Rudy Gay fiasco. No matter who the Rockets draft, I won't allow myself to celebrate until the trade deadline passes.

Time to play hardball. Lowry alone for #5. None of this combo-pick, "move up" trash. Lowry alone is worth 5. This year the #5 pick is less valuable than in other years.

We need 14 and 16 intact so we can send Drummond, 14, and 16 to Orlando for Dwight. Probably adding on some salary in the process (Lowry + Scola + Dalembert + 14 + 16 for Dwight + Hedo, does that work out salary wise?).

If it means anything it seems the Kings have yet to workout any of the top prospects.

The biggest ones so far are Moultrie and Harkless. Maybe just coincidence...or maybe they are planning to draft mid first round....

I think it would be better to give up one of those picks any ways.

Otherwise we'll have way too many rookies coming into the team.

    #5 pick
    14 & 16
    D-Mo
    2nd round pick.

If we get the #5 pick 14 or 16 should easily be part of the deal IMO. Don't get greedy, the prize is the #5 pick, if you don't get that then we'll just be right back drafting at 14 again.

    #5 or later:

    #10. Andrew Bynum
    #15. Al Jefferson
    #7. Greg Monroe
    #9. Joakim Noah
    #18. Javale McGee
    #28. Tiago Splitter
    #31. Nicola Pekovic
    2nd rd. Marcin Gortat

And that's just people who cracked the top 10 in PER for Centers this past year. 8 out of the 10 mind you. The others are Dwight and Duncan. Others close to the top ten who were not drafted before 5:

    #7. Nene
    #17. Roy Hibbert
    #5. Demarcus Cousins
    #10. Brook Lopez
    #48. Marc Gasol
    #10. Spencer Hawes

So point of this exercise is, what do we know about a draftable center based on where he was drafted? Answer: NOTHING. Most of them still bust out or don't reach full potential. For #1 picks who played center, see: Sam Bowie, Chris Olowokandi, Kwame Brown, Greg Oden, Andrew Bogut, Andrea Bargnani, etc, etc, etc.

Crappy NBA GM (*cough* MJ *cough*): I don't always pick a bust with my #1 overall pick, but if I do, it's because I picked a center.

    From Kings message board:

Looks like they have no plan at all to keep the 5th pick...

I'm not a fan of Drummond and I agree with jopat, but I agree with taking a risk.

Draft Drummond, Sullinger, Beal, or PJIII

Just my opinion, but I see no way to sign DWill to the max while retaining any of Scola, Dally, Martin, Lowry, Patterson, or Morris. The only way to keep Scola, per se, would be to drop Dragic and Lee's cap holds. And that's the problem. We have to keep those cap holds and re-sign those guys. Lee will help us get Dwight interested in an extension and Goran.....well....he's flat out better than Scola. If we trade for Dwight and sign DWill and somehow get Goran to buy in as our third star, our lineup should be something like this....

DWill/Goran/Parsons/Dwight/Motie with guys like Duhon/Lee/free agent/Camby/Big Baby or free agent or second rounder coming off the bench.

It makes alot of sense. They don't a need another project. They need to get better now.

Time for Morey to play some hardball. With Golden State (the only other team willing to rent Howard) getting Bogut, we're the only team willing to rent Howard with out an extension of any sorts. As the only buyers there's no reason to overpay.

I'd offer them: Kevin Martin and Samuel Dalembert's expirings along with Patrick Patterson and the 8th pick (Meyers Leonard). Would also take on one of Orlando's uglier contracts.

I think this offer is better then nothing.
