Ditto. There is no way Meyers Leonard is not gone by #12. If he were around at #14, we would be crazy not to take him right then and there. Then, if Sullinger were around at #16, okay, although I would much rather see us draft a SG or PG or even Arnett Moultrie if he is still around.
Not interested at all in Leonard. If we're taking a gamble, it's either Drummond or bust for me. On the other hand, I'm extremely high on Zeller and Sullinger. Would much rather have those two, and I'd be fine with us getting both of them. Always draft BPA.
Leonard at 14 or Drummond at 5 .... whats the better value?! To be honest , I think Leonard will be the best C in this draft. He's much more polished than Drummond. Can finish around the rim with both hands , has a jump shot and is a very good passer out of the post. Drummon might have more "potential" but he doesnt have near the skill right now. He's flat out "RAW" .... tho I'd be happy with either player , I prefer Leonard. Zeller looks to me to be a journeyman type in the NBA ... He might stick around for many years but I dont see him as starting calibur , more a backup type or a stopgap.
My guess is we pick up a backup in free agency or trade. Unless you pick one in the lottery, rookie point guards are rarely even ready to be the backup, they need time. The exception would be a senior point guard from a big program (e.g., Tyshawn Taylor), but you trade off a lot of upside. I wouldn't go in with only a Marquis Teague or Tony Wroten as the plan for a backup PG plan.
Picks n°14 & 16 to the Kings for pick n°5 (Drummond), Kyle Lowry to the Raptors for pick 8 and future considerations, trade down a few spots to take Perry Jones/Austin Rivers+another pick preferably for next year. That would be a great draft for me.
I've found DE is one of the better drafts a month out from draft. The sports reporters tend to have better mocks very close to the draft as they piece inside information together.
First of all, if Leonard was available when we came on the board at 14 we would be incredibly stupid not to grab him then and let another team that needs a center trade with Phily to grab him at such a steal in the draft. So we would take Leonard at 14 then Phily picks either Perry Jones or Jared Sullinger and we take the remaining one. Draft Express is stupid for not seeing the logic there.
I get the feeling that any mock for the Rockets tend to be a bit pointless, as they will more likely be picking for another team rather for themselves at those picks. The only way I can see the Rockets stand pat is if the guy they desperately want will drop to them anyway. If they planned on trading up for someone like PJ3 or Sullinger, then they would be content with staying at their spot. Otherwise, I see trade up or trade for a future pick.
