    Not really a bad trade.

If Orlando is interested in rebuilding Evans and Drummond is a pretty good place to start.

Yes. You are using the same chips (Lowry and your draft picks).

And Hayes would make a lot of sense coming back here or going to Orlando in a trade. He'd be perfect either place, meshing and leading youngsters, or serving as a backup big here.

I hate to say this, but I'd rather have Evans and Drummond than Dwight, when he's coming off back surgery, and unsure if he'd stay here.

And that was hard to type.

No way the Rockets abandon their entire core philosophy of objective evaluation and take a shot in the dark on someone like Drummond, who fails miserably in almost every quantifiable metric. The only thing he's got going for him is the elusive "potential" tag that has gotten countless GMs fired. Indeed, Morey has targeted many prospects with red flags such as height(too short), tenure(too old), headcase(Cousins, Twill). However, productivity was the silver lining in all those cases. As long as you produced, all the other red flags could be overlooked. Drummond's red flag is that despite all the hype and expectations, despite looking the part, he was not productive. If the guy fails at dominating(or even producing) against college competition, how could anyone expect him to produce against grown men?

All that said, if the Rockets are truly targeting him, then I absolutely agree that it would be for another team foolish enough to bite.

Probably right. I was debating if Patterson or Morris would be included.

The problem that most people seem to be missing is that if the Rockets do in fact trade up for the #5 pick (I assume that means giving up Lowry) with the intention of taking Drummond and flipping him to Orlando... what exactly does that leave to trade along with Drummond?

Kevin Martin is a possibility. I seriously doubt they would want Scola.

Basically, the deal for Dwight would have to be:

    Martin + #5 pick (Drummond) + Patterson/Morris/Parsons

Is that enough for Dwight? I'm not sure that it is.

Yeah, I'm not sure either. I like the looks of Drummond and he could potentially give us a bigger window of contending if we were to keep the young guys together and build.

Then again, Dwight and Deron puts you into contender straight away.

Either way we go, I'll be happy because it will be calculated and will have a purpose. I highly doubt Morey does any moves that hurt the Rockets (like giving a silly contract to someone).

Evans is classic change of scenery guy. The Kings tried to mold him into a point guard and then later a small forward. I think he can turn it around as a shooting guard.

We have absolutely zero chance at getting Deron Williams...

I think the deal that makes the most sense with Sac is Scola and #14 for Hayes and #5.

That statement may be true on July 1 if we don't acquire Dwight. But it's not true right now.

I don't know much about him but here are some metrics that he doesn't fail at:

    18 years old
    6' 9.75" in barefoot
    6' 11.75" in shoes
    279 pounds
    7' 6.25" wingspan
    9' 1.5" standing reach
    MOBILE

Those are great metrics for any 18 year old. How many solid to great NBA players would have been written off based on their freshman year of college? Do I need to show you how Andrew Bynum looked at 18?

I wish the whole Dwight Howard fantasy would stop already... Everything points toward him teaming with DWill in Brooklyn.

With a legit shot a FINALLY rebuilding thru the draft, without taking a major step back, why would someone not want that.

If we get Howard we will just be putting off rebuilding one more year.
