How so? I said the NHC track would shift quite a bit.....last night it was aiming for South Texas....this morning it's targeting Lousiana :). We really won't know until she starts moving.

Also, people, if you're going to post things like radar, computer models, forecast tracks, etc, please save the image to a site like http://imgur.com and link to it from there, rather than leeching off of a weather site. When the pic gets updated it makes it really confusing reading through the thread. For example, recently I read through the Ike thread and I see all of these images of crystal clear radar that people were freaking out about :)

NHC still forecasting a shift to the West as of 10 a.m.:

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCPAT4+shtml/241455.shtml

AT 1000 AM CDT...1500 UTC...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM DEBBY WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 28.0 NORTH...LONGITUDE 86.2 WEST. DEBBY IS
MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHEAST NEAR 6 MPH...9 KM/H...BUT LITTLE MOTION IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 12 TO 24 HOURS. A GRADUAL TURN TOWARD THE WEST IS FORECAST THEREAFTER. THE FORECAST TRACK WILL KEEP THE CENTER OF DEBBY MEANDERING OVER THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

Sorry, I was looking at the 5 day track map on wunderground which showed a TX landfall, Harrisment.

I can't see Debby moving west towards Texas at all. LA/ALis the most likely spot.

Pretty interesting system so far! Dang women. Always keeping us on our toes. ;)

Debby looks like its getting ripped apart right now on satellite. The LLC is heading w-nw and the MLC is moving inland over Florida. Unless that LLC can rebuild some convection Debby is toast.

I think Debbie Lynn got wasted last night and now she's just stumbling around trying to find her car.

That mlc heading over Florida could very well make it down to the surface in the Atlantic and then we'll have two systems. That's if that LLC survives that long.

NHC put all their eggs in the Euro basket and up to now it's really come back to bite them in the ass. I can't remember the last time I've seen an official forecast so far off. This is from yesterday.

? Do you not expect another tropical storm this season to at least have a chance to hit Texas? I see nothing wrong with his statement.

The flap of the wings on a butterfly in the Amazon can change the weather.

But predictin' makes good TV and sells soap.

I don't know where you think we live but this is the gulf coast. This time of year we can have a threat from a tropical system. Stop being an jerk in this thread about things you know jack about.

Hurricanes are a great way to get ratings and blog hits, and the media exaggerates every new storm in order to make money. For every Katrina, there are dozens and dozens of incidents like this where the storm mongering is completely unwarranted, but why pass up a chance to scare every old lady from Brownsville to Miami.

So, when a storm enters the gulf or is a threat to the gulf, what should news stations do? Should they ignore all of the weather models that exist across the world? It's not like of of the media is making up these weather models. They gather them up and show all of the various paths the storm may take. As the storm matures, the forecasts take better shape.

It's going to be really bad for FL. 23 inches expected to fall in that area! Allison part 2.
