im sure this has been discussed before, but anyways, is howard being selfish by not wanting to go to the bulls? deng/noah/boozer for howard and anderson?

either way, i heard howard doesnt wanna go to the bulls because he wants to be the number1 option on his team and because the bulls is rose's team? can howard really win being the number 1 option on a team?

because a howard/rose duo would destroy the heat....

Rose pre-injury possibly. I don't think Rose is going to be the same. Although he has the basketball smarts to be able to work well with Howard being the 1st option.

Dumb not wanting to go to Chicago before because

    1. "it's too cold"
    2. he'll never be the #1 option, #1 guy there,(Rose's team, Rose the hometown guy)
    3. Adidas doesn't want it's two biggest stars in the same market.

Now? I don't know. Seems like the Bulls might be taking a step back. Rose is probably going to miss the first half of the season, and if they aren't in contention, why rush him back? They also may be looking to trade Deng. Even if he stays, he too could miss the first part of the season, after likely having wrist surgery. And no telling on Noah's ankle/foot.

Looked like a great option for him before? Now, ehh a little uncertainty there.

But Dwight Howard 'just wants to win' and refusing Chicago? That's funny.

Is there something wrong with him being selfish? It's his career and he should be able to do whatever he wants to with it.

J.Rs post got me thinking. There is a clause in Howard's contract with Adidas that says he will make a ton of money if he plays for Brooklyn or NY.

Why can't Adidas put that clause in for Houston as well? They know how many T-Macs they sold here.

Is that something substantial, or did you just hear that somewhere -- that clause in his contract?

This. Why is DHoward "selfish" for exercising his right to choose where he wants to play? How would you feel if your boss calls you selfish for leaving the company to go to a higher paying position in another firm?

To be quite honest, I never really understood what the posters here in CFans have against players thinking for themselves and making their own choices.

OKC GM putting KD alongside Harden, Ibaka and WB= Genius

Lebron, Bosh and Wade deciding to play together = wimping out, a betrayal running away etc. etc. etc.

Think about what you're saying here and think about how extremely difficult it is to build a core like OKC has than three stars joining up together (oh how hard that must be).

yes there is something wrong. he says that he wants to win, and he would have the perfect opportunity to win in Chicago.

Many teams have drafted a Durant and failed to surround a player like that with players like Westbrook, Harden. And I can tell you they hardly even tanked after drafting Durant, they straight up sucked. Anyway, having the 4th pick in drafts doesn't guarantee you good players, you have to be quite good at analyzing prospects. It's a much more complicated, respectable process of building a team than a player joining up with two other stars to form a great team.

I'll only think that he is selfish if he doesn't come to Houston.

selfish because he doesn't want to go to chicago?no

besides no one is destroying anyone with a torn acl...for now at least.. howard won't wait long enough for rose to get better. At least I don't think he would.

My money is on howard to LA with kobe and deron williams.

Selfish can also be applied to fans that feel they have some sort of say in where a player should go. Howard is free to go where ever he wants as a free agent, and free to let teams know ahead of time that he won't stay with them. He can also tell Orlando he wants to go to the Nets.

Orlando's free to tell him to shove it and can ship him anywhere they feel like.

    Uh, what?

    - You don't try to get your "boss" in Van Gundy, fired, just to satisfy the Orlando FO and still decide to leave for FA.

    - You don't play with people, making fans think you might stay, when you obviously have one foot out the door.

If you want to leave a team, do so. No one will fault you for it. But don't make a big scene out of it, like LeBron did.

And you really can't compare OKC's situation to Miami. Trading pieces for draft picks, and having those draft picks turn out to be absolute studs is far, FAR different than wooing three established top 20 players to come play for your team.
