A very good episode today, Sas went off in the beginning about Skip for still not swallowing his pride and let lbj enjoy this. Skips is just highlighting the whole "its about damn time" quote, that he should have had three by now. They brought Mark Cuban onto the show and boy did he roast Skip a bit. Actually impressed with his knowledge and analysis. Provided more then the 'lebron just chocked last year' bandwagon. Thoughts on today's episode? Sorry if wrong area.
Just watched it. Cuban made Skip Bayless look like a fool. Good for him. <script src="http://player.espn.com/player.js?&playerBrandingId=4ef8000cbaf34c1687a7d9a26fe0e89e&pcode=1kNG061cgaoolOncv54OAO1ceO-I&width=576&height=324&externalId=espn:8084669&thruParam_espn-ui[autoPlay]=false&thruParam_espn-ui[playRelatedExternally]=true"></script>
Skip, Why do you use a Zone? Skip's answer - (Crickets) That was classic... He looked so lost in that interview.. He was really exposed..
Lol, at Marc Cuban asking Skip what kind of defensive scheme OKC used on Lebron last night. "They used Sefolosha, Durant. Ibaka was supposed to come hard..." Skip had nothing but opinions opposed to Cuban's facts.
Cuban did well but he can't honestly think that Lebron didn't stop himself just as much or more than the Mavs did last year.
I think Cuban knows that too. But unlike Skip, he doesn't make such a big deal out of it that it overshadows what is substantial in the game.
That was FANTASTIC!!! My admiration for Cuban just increased although it's not really all that hard to make Bayless look like a fool - heck, if you just wait, he'll do it for you.
Cuban pwnd Skip That was awesome and I don't even like Mark Cuban that much. Probably mainly because he owns the Mavericks and I love the Rockets. Skip looks like he got the verbal equivalent of Skip To My Lou'd And 1 style. I barely knew who he was until a few weeks ago but now know the venom he spit out about Lebron. He is just a sensationalist. Cuban had valid points about the zone and using it to make the Heat a jumpshooting basketball team. But you are right in that Lebron did defer to his teammates too much. Marion isn't that good of a defender. Lebron should have forced the issue more with hard drives. His post game alone may have won the Heat the title last year. Dallas has no one to guard Lebron on the block besides maybe Chandler but that would have compromised their interior defense. He realizes that now that he is the best option to score first and then pass.
And Bayless "exposed" SaS right after game 5 of the ECF. Both are hacks. Sports talk shows in general are a ridiculous waste of time. Why should we listen to "experts" as if it will make a difference on what happens on the field/court. It's gotten out of hand. Sports writers are given too much of a podium -- analysis is fine, but hours and hours of nonsensical discussions over talk radio and television is just disturbing.
Is this whole episode available anywhere online? I'm waiting for ESPN to upload the podcast, but they've apparently decided to take their sweet time doing it today.
Deja vu, I wonder who have I seen in this board that suffers from the same kind of problems, I feel like it is a big elephant in the room.
People laugh at Skip Bayless. But there are many Skip Baylesses among us. At least Skip didn't plead the "I don't have to know **** and I don't have to be right in order to criticize you people because I'm not a coach/team exec/player" card like some people.
The sad part is he has a massive following for being a ignorant jackass... This verbal assault wont change that nor him
Haha exactly! He came in with guns blazin! All skip does is throw around his opinions and skeptisism because hes got nothing more too add. Whats worse is when they have people of Cuban's status and players talk to him about problems. All that does is feed him more and make him even more arrogant to keep his shpeel up! Cant even answer any simple question Mark asked lol.
