Trade KMart and Scola to the Thunder for Harden and Nazi. Only problem with this is it give the Thunder what they need for another run. KMart's shooting and Scola's low post scoring. We also need to resign Dragic and trade Klow and Dally for Howard. I think that would get us close.
Sam Presti would be hung in the streets if he even thought about this deal and theyre would be a ticker tape parade in Moreys honor that even DD would attend.
I agree with you about the Hakeem era Rockets because they played in an era when low-post offense was a staple of NBA teams. Nowadays, it is not as much because of the zone and lack of quality post players. As for Wade, he's already publicly stated that his role on the Heat has changed and that he's now a role player while the team leadership torch has been passed to Lebron. As for the Thunder, They are very very close. About the only change I'd make would be head coach - not sure that Brooks is the right guy to carry them to a title. He was out coached by Spoelstra in the Finals and simply could not come up with an answer for the Heat's half court defense. As the intensity of the games increased, Brooks was at a loss as to what to do. Doesn't impact the Rockets at all as both teams are playing basketball at a much higher level than the Rockets ever could given their current situation.
I don't know if you watched the finals or not but Harden didn't exactly increase his value. Sam Presti knows he has to change something to get past the Heat. He will be hard pressed to keep both Harden and Ibaka. It was more than obvious that the Thunder can't lose Ibaka so there has to be some change. They need low post scoring and Scola provides that. They would also need bench scoring and KMart provides that. The big loss for the Thunder is really just youth. Harden also served as a backup PG at times but when they get Eric Maynor back next season this won't be as big a deal. I don't know many teams that are going to line up with their young big men to trade for Harden.
Are you my alter ego, little jimmy? Your two starting x's are Dwight and DWill. Or possibly Pau and some other top-notch two-way wing that is athletic, can run and defend, is strong, and can pop the 3-ball at 40+%. But in my opinion, you'd be better off running out DWill with Dragic. They are both big point guards that can defend SGs effectively. They would be like a younger version of Parker and Manu. However, depending on your low-post big, you need two different PFs, and neither of them is Scola or Patterson. If you've got Dwight in the middle, you don't need big time rebounding from your 4. What you need is a 4 that can shoot the 3 at a high rate and is a great weak side help defender. If you've got Pau in the middle, you really need a PF that can spread the floor but can also board and defend. Neither of Scola or Patterson fit those descriptions. Unless Patterson develops the 3 ball. That's where a guy like Motie comes in. And scouring the league, it's where a guy like Morey goes after a guy like Anthony Randolph and catches a lucky break.
Who cares? Step 1 - Make the playoffs.... We will worry about later steps, later...we have been stuck on Step 1 for 3 years now. DD
I hope we acquire Dwight and DWill just so guys like you have to open up their minds to the possibility of teams taking leaps instead of baby steps.
