Cool story bro I know but just shook his hand. No pic as we were boarding. He is wearing a 93 Basketball Hall of Fame hat. On the way to Chicago on Southwest
Yeah just completed my connection to NY. He was wearing a prada shirt and a NBA HOF hat. He was just normal fitting in. One if the SWA guys recognized him too. Remember he has like 12 kids im sure he has paid out alot of money. Oh and he has the typical I played too much ball limp.
The 80s? 2-3 mill was a big deal in the early 90s for NBA players. Murphy's salary wouldn't crack a mill in the early 80s. I wouldn't be surprised if he made under 100k.
Did you seriously not ask him about the commentating next year? Or can you just not tell us his answer
the average NBA salary in 1982 was $241,000. Someone that makes that much today would probably drive at least a high-end Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, etc.. my point is that he wasn't flashy with what he drove back then when he could have afforded a whole lot more, so he's probably the same way today with money.
I thought about asking him but its first come first seat and he was by himself and sat on a single leftover seat..thats when i shook his hand. I sat in the back with my girl. We were close to the last ones loaded.
If they had a job at which they could make that for the next 30 years, maybe. That's a huge maybe, by the way; you'd be surprised how many senior VPs, especially if they "worked their way up" in Oil/Gas or Manufacturing environments, or were just big landowners or business owners in small towns, would never waste money on a fancy car or clothes.
