Unless we flip one of the Boston picks to NJ to satisfy the TWill obligation (which gives us flexibility with our first round pick next year in trades), or we use one of the Boston picks for Eurostash Evan Fournier.

Now you're talking. 14 to keep. 21 to fulfill obligation. 22 to Eurostash. That sounds like a Daryl Morey-type plan to me.

Something like that could turn around to bite us in the end. It gives a team more time to pony up and pay Dragic enough to nab him.

That would be a fantastic draft day scenario, mind you they dont finally make a deal to get in the top 6, which would be the ultimate win.

JoeBarelyCares that you didn't quote him as the originator of the idea like Clutch did -- on his 4,000th post no less (or more).

    suck up ... :)

All these Morey interviews are just the same canned corporate blah blah blah. He isn't going to reveal ****.

I'll just wait til' draft day to see if he will make any moves.

Yeah, this draft really seems like there is one surefire pick, a couple of 'pretty good things' and then a whole lot of guys who most likely will be fairly decent.

I'd be all about using a pick (+ players) to get a really good vet, and then maybe flipping the other one for the 2 Boston picks.

Damn straight, he shouldn't be giving his game plan out all willy-nilly.

That plan is what keeps us mediocre.

I see at least 4 surefire picks.
    Beal
    Robinson
    Davis
    Lillard

    There are definitely more.

"Horse-Crap," would imply that it's not true. Since it is in fact the second year without his contract on the books.... what did you actually mean to say?

No what keeps us mediocre is not hitting rock bottom to get top 3-5 picks. Nearly all elite players are top 5 picks and this is a superstar league. I don't blame Morey for this, as he has to answer to his boss.

Still, I think Morey is even a little discouraged. Superstars are at a premium now than 5-10 years ago, and the few available either got to a super elite market of couple with other stars.

LOL its not horse crap its fact. You just don't want to hear about it because it destroys the whole "DM and the ROx has been doing nothing but spinning their wheels" premise. People tend to lose perspective a lot of times, like when they say that OKC's GM is the best GM ever when its been 5 years, a clear cap room, three top 5 picks and 1 top 10 pick later and still no ring.

I think Heypartner is right. We are going to secure an agreement with Goran on a contract. And then we are going to make roster moves and sign him after we make our roster moves and use up our cap space.

In fact, I'm of the opinion that if we can trade for Dwight and sign DWill that part of the agreement with Goran is going to get him to agree to play in the backcourt next to DWill before the deal is even made.

Ya gotta have Dragic sign on th dotted line... so you can utilize yer best trade chip - Lowry... sure wouldnt want to be the team that traded KLow only to lose Dragic to another team via free agency - even if we had a wink wink agreement in place... ;)

Less suspense this year, because whoever we pick is just about guaranteed not to contribute much next year given all our contracts. Really what we're waiting for and what we've been waiting for the past four years is a trade in which the total number of contracts we have decreases. Theoretically that would mean that we're getting back the best player in the deal, but you never know.

Happened for the first time in a small deal where we got Camby and unloaded Flynn and Thabeet, but honestly I was really happy about that trade and am biting at the bit for more of those this offseason.

What a bunch of bull, second year after Yao my ass. I am convinced now Morey never tried to really persuade Leslie to consider to tank last year or even before that. Now he thinks class is deep, pleasee  I wouldn't be shocked if we end up with no picks and just one good veteran player in return.

The guy is all talk and no play and I hope if we get Gasol, people will not show up to welcome the guy and boo both! Rockets fans, do not settle for mediocrity any more!!!
