No, Sam, it's just your ignorance painting you as small and inconsequential once again.

Wow, thats a big stretch. The previous posts were talking about a WITCH HUNT, so he likened it to Burning at a stake - what they did to accused Witches during the Witch Hunts in Europe and the US hundreds of years ago.

YOU brought up burning crosses. YOU are playing the race card when NOBODY else brought up anything having to do with race.

I just said it was an interesting metaphor for his proposed punishment for Holder.

Not sure why everybody is so offended - methinks consciences are a bit guilty.

Well, with Obama's decision to cloak Holder with executive privilege, House members and Senators are beginning to ask why. Obama has left himself wide open for questions about why he is shielding "Fast and Furious" from full investigation. IMO, it is an open admission by Obama that he had a key role in the debacle.

You are sad, but that aside, where's your "proof?" Ahh, I don't approve of Obama's performance and policies, so that makes me a racist. I'm Hispanic but not black, so I'm racist. My favorite players are Scola and Budinger, so I'm racist. I want a balanced budget with elimination of wasteful spending, so I'm a racist. My family has black, white and Hispanic parentage, so I must be racist since we are not all black. Right! Now back to the point regarding Obama's culpability in "Fast and Furious."

That is precisely why I find SamF intellectually empty.

My proof is your disgusting post history -- take a look in the mirror and ask yourself why it makes you feel stronger to degrade those less fortunate than you.

Only bigots like you and SamF should feel degraded.

Meanwhile, the Terry family (oops, they are white, aren't they? rats! more racism since the ICE agent -- Jaime Zapata -- slain in Mexico is merely Hispanic) has just issued a statement:

Terry family attorney Pat McGroder released the following statement Wednesday from Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry's parents, Josephine Terry and Kent Terry Sr.:

"Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to fully disclose the documents associated with Operation Fast and Furious and President Obama's assertion of executive privilege serves to compound this tragedy. It denies the Terry family and the American people the truth. Our son, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, was killed by members of a Mexican drug cartel armed with weapons from this failed Justice Department gun trafficking investigation. For more than 18 months we have been asking our federal government for justice and accountability. The documents sought by the House Oversight Committee and associated with Operation Fast and Furious should be produced and turned over to the committee. Our son lost his life protecting this nation, and it is very disappointing that we are now faced with an administration that seems more concerned with protecting themselves rather than revealing the truth behind Operation Fast and Furious."

I for one am pleased to see Republicans pursuing these cases the way they are on both the leaks and Fast and Furious. Though both programs are being scrutinized for political reasons, this is what is expected when we talk about balancing power.

Under the Bush administration, brazen illegalities were tolerated, and quite often, defended by Democrats. Warantless wiretapping could not have occurred without Democrat complicity, and torture investigations have been expressly shut down by the Obama Administration, often times through unprecedented means (foreign countries have been threatened by the Obama administration for even questioning torture allegations).

In fact, even before this exercise of Executive Privilege, State Secrets Privilege has been frequently invoked by both administrations to shut down the mere prospect of investigation (this, despite Obama's explicit commitment to change this Bush era policy).

Obama has unsurprisingly taken moves to delay the process past the election, but if these cases engender a new era of judicial adjudication and transparency regarding government programs, it will be progress in the grand scheme of things. Although I may feel different as this goes forward, for the time being its tough for me to feel any sympathy for Obama or to accept the 'Bush did it too' argument.

I don't know that he admits involvement, but he rhetorically opens himself up to that scrutiny and all the cheap shot articles, oppo research, ethics charges and federal subpoenas that come with it. Especially now that there's no more Independent Counsel, opposing ideologues should be dumping all of their resources into getting a sitting President in an election year to reveal his actions, or at least getting a judge to rule on it either way.

Well said. Neocon actions are still neocon actions. They've been running the show the last 12 years. Only thing different about this administration is he's reached out to the other side on domestic social policy talking points.

Unfortunately, i'd suspect the 'mormon' is one of those neocons so don't see how this country is any better off with a changing of the guard like some may argue. This country is in need of major overhaul of its leadership.

Agreed. This to me is the most compelling argument in favor of Obama- a President Romney would undoubtedly expand the War on Terror and incite war with Iran. These are actions he can take unilaterally, and it's a virtual lock that he'd start yet another war.

I am starting to wonder if Obama isn't involved. In an election year, the prudent thing to do would be to drop Holder like a hot potato due to his stupidity. The only reason I could see for executive privilege would be to protect himself. Seriously, Holder is a complete idiot and quite possibly the worst AG ever. Why would Obama stand up for him when he could fire him and appoint someone else unless he is involved in the whole debacle?

I see the logic in your deduction. However, sometimes the opposite is true. Who would have thought the original Cold Warrior, Richard Nixon, would be the one to open relations with mainland China? Or how Ronald Reagan would be the one to "normalize" relations with the former Soviet Union? Or, reaching way back, how John Kennedy could face down the Soviets in the Cuban Missile Crisis? Until Obama's election (my opinion) we have been fortunate in electing Presidents (Carter excepted) who could rise to the challenges of the office because of their personal courage and moral fortitude.
