Is Trevor Ariza now the new Drew Gooden? Eight years, six teams. That's pretty impressive.

It's not all about the numbers but speaking of numbers....The numbers are just fine although I think he can improve those more too only because he has the talent to do so (obviously I'm giving high praise for Wall).

What I think he can improve on is being a better leader and a better decision maker and working on his midrange game/3 point shot. Often times the first 2 things I mentioned take time to develop and it's usually year 3 when you see a big improvement and the shot takes a bit longer than that but I think he can do it.

What separates Derrick Rose from John Wall are the things that I mentioned. With quality veterans and new direction I think Wall is going to make that big step forward like I mentioned.

I agree that the deal is not as bad for WAS as some folks think: Okafor and are Ariza and competent and their contracts are not killers given Washington's situation. It's not like they traded for some scrub with 4-years remaining on his deal.

However, I don't think convincing John Wall to stay has anything to do with it. Wall will be a restricted FA in 2014. He will be offered a max extension in 2013 and most likely sign it. Even if he does not, he will be a restricted FA. WAS will offer him max dollars and they can match all outside offers. The only way he forces his way out at this point is to refuse a max extension in 2013, refuse a max contract in 2014, sign a one year qualifying offer to become an unrestricted FA in 2015. Given things like injury risks (look at what happened with D. Rose) there is really no way Wall delays getting paid guaranteed money for 2 whole years just to get out of Washington. So, there is basically zero chance of Wall leaving in the next few years.

Anyone saying the Wiz will be a playoff team next season....they shouldn't be. Okafor only played 27 games last season....and Ariza is just...Ariza. He is as efficient as Antoine Walker.

The only way they become a playoff team is if all the calls go their way next season. I can see it happening because they can't sell tickets.

Trade Morris for Jan Vesley now.

Wiz don't need Vesley, plus we can become the whitest team around.

I'm also a fan of coach Monty Williams. It will be interesting to see how it goes when expectations for their team increase the next couple of years.

IMO, two years is too long for a couple of washed up chumps like Okafor and Ariza. In their current form, they are the personification of losers. Agree Wall needs a better coach but idiot Ernie Grunfeld kept Randy Wittman (who I will always love for his IU playing days but he's not up to being an NBA head coach).

Whether they make the playoffs or not next season doesn't really matter... that's a really good trade for the Wizards.

Damn... I was really hoping the Rockets could utilize the Wiz to send Scola and whoever else there to move up in the draft. I had a feeling they wanted to go "win now" to try and keep John Wall there long term.

Is it possible for two teams to lose in a trade?

Sounds like you are joking, however, this guy isnt.

Steve Kyler: It is HIGHLY doubtful Rashard Lewis goes back to Orlando... watch the Lakers and Houston. Twitter

WTF??? Why would we want Rashard?

But why settle for mediocrity? It's like they know they'll never win a championship.

After he is bought out, if we have an extra roster spot (after the massive Dwight trade???), then we may be willing to sign Rashard for vet minimum since he is from Houston.

wait, that why he would want to play for the rox, i can't think any reason why the rox would want a washed up tweener who can't shoot anymore...

I could see that happening. Right now I'm just looking at the logjam of 3/4's on the roster.

Rashard always said he will most likely finish his career in Houston.

Great move by the Wiz. Now they have Okafor and Nene to beef up the middle.
