Every President from George Washington forward has claimed executive privilege. That's no surprise. However, not one has ever claimed executive privilege to inhibit a murder investigation by a Congressional committee. IMO, executive privilege was invoked because Obama knows he and Holder were hip deep in "Fast and Furious." If those papers get out to the public, Obama's election would be in serious jeopardy -- and he knows it.

Well this time the investigation is a BIT more important in regards to discovering the truth.

Not a fan of 'privledge.' It's a convenient way of avoiding truth, justice & transparency-whatever the circumstances.

Nope the Bush administration also claimed executive privilege in the Pat Tillman murder investigation.

Using your logic the Bush administration and the military CLEARLY were responsible for Pat Tillman's death and covered it up by withholding documents to the then Democratic Congress.

I'm sorry but this rampage against Obama is not unique. It's happened countless times. It's just in this case since the guy in the White House isn't George Bush or a Republican, people are all of a sudden outraged.

The selective rage on this is silly.

That was a "friendly fire" investigation -- not a murder investigation. Bush didn't order anyone in the field to shoot at Tillman. Holder et al did not order anyone to shoot the Border Patrol officer, I agree, but Holder (and now Obama) is impeding Congress from finding out who authorized and carried out the wildly unsuccessful, ill-designed program.

This belongs in the other thread.

    Also, Obama sucks.

The problem is that the other Teabagger-wannabe option sucks far, far, far more.

Obama can basically murder civilians for the rest of this term, and he's still better than that billionaire mormon who wants to make it even more difficult for average people to have good lives.

If I have to choose between two giant bags of ****, then I'm selecting the lighter one.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but executive privilege only applies if the President was involved. So Obama technically just admitted his guilt in Fast and Furious, right?

    Non-partisan answers, please.

Bigtexxx hit the nail on the head a few posts back. You seek to obfuscate because this President, who said he would have the most open administration ever instead is the most secretive and nefarious ever.

What other thread? The only one I can find is basso's thread about how Holder's "Fast and Furious" program led to the slaughter of hundreds of Mexican citizens -- not Obama's executive privilege decision.

It's the same subject, but you wanted to create another thread. It's cool, but don't play dumb.

    This is clearly false.

He might be, but he could kill 300 more on my front porch and I still wouldn't vote for Mitt the Mormon.

I'm not voting for Obama either (I live in Texas so it doesn't matter), but the idea that I should give support to Romney just because Obama's an idiot is a stupid idea and clearly doesn't take into account Romney's own idiocy.
