Well, I think it's over. If the Heat don't close the series the next game, they should stop playing basketball and find another sport
Thanks everyone for jinxing OKC. Looks like Lebron finally gets it and has become what SacTown always thought he was. After game 2, I had a bad feeling Miami would take OKC out in the next 3. Congrats Lebron on your first NBA Championship, 3rd MVP, and 1st Finals MVP.
Looks like Heat will take it. On the bright side, if OKC somehow win Game 5 they still have two home games.
C'mon, be fair. I mean, he said in the press conference before the game that he isn't going to make any adjustments. He's just going to play his game.
I'm one of the biggest Lebron James fans out there, but this stat is historically misleading. This stat punishes stars on dominant playoff teams, i.e. those that close out each series in four-five games. James saw extended rounds versus Indiana and Boston, due to Bosh's injury. Also, they only relatively recently went to a best-of-seven first round series. And they squeezed another round in a few decades back: in the old days, you only had to win Fo, Fo, Fo. Which is not to say that James' run hasn't been historically awesome. His game has been a joy to watch. I'm old enough to have watched Olajuwon's championship years, and Jordan's. What James did in Game 6 against Boston, and against Indiana down 2-1, was the stuff of legend. That 3-pointer in this game through leg cramps (polio, muscle cramps are not -- but still) just adds to the myth.
Olajuwon played 23 & 22 games in the 2 championship runs. James has now played 22. Both championship runs, he came up 2 assists short of those marks(650-200-100). Of course Dream had more points and more rebounds.
I'm pretty sure this series proves it. KD is a superstar himself - the second best player in this league, but Lebron is just a better overall player by a fairly decent margin.
I considered this series over after Game 2. Heat with 3 games at home and Thunder being so iffy on the road meant at best it was going to be 3-2 Miami with two chances to close it out. I'm surprised OKC has yet to dominate a game with their scoring, and that should have been game 2. I don't see a rally from them. Congrats to LeBron on his first ring.
People is so knee jerk, most thought San Antonio would sweep okc and possibly da whole playoffs after they went up 2-0. This series far from over, its still THREE GAMES LEFT, 2 IN OKC. I think okc could pulloff a miracle and ring off 3 in a row. Straight up tho, kd and westbrok Look like miami broke they spirit, specially after givin they best punch and blowin a 17 pt lead. Say what u want about miami, but i aint seen a team this resilliant in a long ass time, they have come from behind so many times this postseason in every series and they never give up. There defenitely aint no quit in lebron, not this year. He is a man posessed.
It's hard to believe Miami has won 3 in a row...I thought the thunder were going to be harder to beat after their showing in the west. What suprises me more than anything in this series is how comfortable and in control Lebron looks in the post...he can run the whole offense from there and just kill the thunder...it doesn't matter who they put on him. Add that to his fast break and perimeter skils. Incredible.
wow just got through the game, such a game of runs, where to start, at the beginning i guess Westbrook was just amazing, when the mid range hits, he really can't be stopped from getting to the rim Lebron gotta love the play off the block almost reminded me of Dream, just waiting for the double and then dish, or shoot over the small defender the thunder's D was horrendous, the double was terribly positioned and there ability to rotate was dreadful, but they just could control the dribbler and hence had to help way too much what the hell has happened to Harden?? he was atrocious, so much so he passes up foul line jumpers and missess lay-ups can't work out Brooks line-ups, thoughts he should have gone to Collison earlier in the third quarter, why leave Harden on Lebron for so long, especially when he was getting killed and so dreadful on offense, thought he played Fisher way to much tonight, and that toilet bowl offense at the start of the second quarter was painful and so a great way to give back to the heat the great first quarter they had they seem to have no idea how to combat James and Battier fronting Durant, it was like watching a worse way of Yao combatting fronting for so long... just flash a player to the foul line and then pass the ball to Durant for lay-ups, or maybe if they are denying on the 3 pt line use one of the bigs to set a back-screen what does Westbrook have to do to get as foul, Wade got the normal couple of phantom calls, why no consistency Chalmers was great and really saved the Heat's bacon a great game, but so many bad stretches, really can't see the Thunder taking this back to OKC, the won't get another Westbrook game like that, Harden is done and their confidence will be shot, the Miami crowd will be pumped and if they get off to a good start it will be party time for most of the game PS and of course this game gave us the worst basketball play for the year, with Fisher taking a lay-up in transition against the only 3 heat defenders with Westbrook after making 5 SHOTS IN A ROW, calling for the ball wide open on the wing, getting blocked and the heat getting an open lay-up at the other end..... JUST STUPID from a supposed veteran
