In other words, he's taking the Adrian Houser route.

Ah, Dasani. Only the finest for Scott Boras and our elite level high school talent.

    I'm so excited!!

Really appreciate all of you guys keeping us up to date on the 'Stros.

On a related note, what's the word on Mike Hessman?

I went to the Dell Diamond Saturday for the game against the Express and he hit a monster shot off the upper deck of their homerun porch.

    It was amazing.

Also saw Oswalt pitch for the Express yesterday, but that Hessman shot was the highlight of my weekend.

Yeah at least Carlos lee was good for a few years(except for completely taking out Adam Everett)

Worst trade would have to be the Jason Jennings trade, we sent on top 50 prospect(Hirsh) for him and he didn't do anything. The package we gave for tejada was also horrible. On a happier note, glad to see McCullers sign!

I can completely see him being our DH next year. Considering that we have a lack of outfield talent in the majors, I think JD is going to have to play left field next year. Wallace will man first base.

I would not mind resigning Carlos lee for a year, considering he has a ranch here and loves it here he might sign for a low amount. I'd prefer to get Berkman back though

I'm not sure I miss Luke Scott, Matt Albers, Troy Patton, Dennis Sarfate, & Michael Constanzo.

Jennings would have been worse if the guys we gave up became anything.

Trading Caminiti & Finley for Derek Bell was worse.

Trading away Joe Morgan, John Mayberry, Kenny Lofton, & Curt Schilling all kind of suck too.

Austin Wates, Fernando Martinez, Bogey, Shuck, Maxwell & a host of other guys will be competing for OF spots.

Not much to go with, but wouldn't be overly surprising to see J.D. as a DH, if he can figure it out.

Its sort of a bummer to keep checking this thread for updates on our prospects and instead find endless crying over the past. For those of you who do add updates, thanks.

By the way our two Florida prospects got back to back hits to get Florida within one run in the 7th. (Unfortunately Fontana did give up an error in the 1st which cost FL an unearned run) Tucker will be up in the bottom of the 9th to try to tie it.

I realize they didn't turn out as good prospects but Albers was the 88th top prospect and Patton was the 58th top prospect, they just didn't pan out as well as hoped. Patton is having a pretty good season as a reliever. I'm just saying at the time we gave up a lot

I think most of the other signings will wait until the CWS players are eliminated.

Lol "endless crying", it's more of a joy that we have a better front office, but you can understand it however you want. The crawfish boxes is an excellent site to go for updates, or astros county

It must be extremely bitter sweet for the guys from Florida that got drafted. You get booted in embarrassing fashion, while you are the #1 seed. But, on the bright side, you get to sign your 1st pro contract and start the next chapter of your life.

Brian McTaggert on MLB.com said the Astros have had "productive talks with Ruiz" - whatever that means...
