guys...you have to understand the only way this will happen is if we give up both lowry and scola..AND STILL maybe a pick.

I can see wanting to pair the Gasol bros at 4/5, but what do you do with Zack Randolph?

Are you kidding? No one even wants Gasol anymore. His stock has dropped faster than a Spanish bank's. If we trade for him it will be for pennies on the dollar.

Sigh - the Gasol haters rise again.

2 rings. A 20.51 PER last year (way higher than anyone currently on the roster). WC all star 3 out of the last 4 years. The positives go on and on.

Lowry, Scola, and the Dallas protected first round pick. That would be where I would start the bidding. Can anyone explain to me why we would not want Gasol based on any measurable BB statistic? And no your emotional gut reaction is not a reason.

Pretty pathetic that they decide to trade him because Mike Brown doesn't know how to utilize him in his iso-ball offense.

You don't bid against yourself. If the going rate is lower, then you see how low it goes and then just one-up it a little bit. That's if we even feel like Gasol, who is on the decline mind you, has anything left in the tank to contribute to a championship contender.

Tbh I'd rather let this one pass by... even for peanuts. I can't see this as being anything more than a lateral move, while simultaneously taking on salary.

I'd much rather segue those assets into finally moving up in the draft. We desperately need a potential cornerstone piece, and regardless of the inherent risk of the draft process in general we can at least be sure that Pau is no longer that piece.

The problem is the roster. Bynum can't space the defenders because you don't have to guard him outside of 8'. This yields constant low post double teams for Gasol. This isn't directed at you Scol, but to the general population here.

Lowry and a pick? Even Morey, with his Gasol fetish, isn't that dumb.

2 rings with one of the greatest players in nba history. you saw what happened when he was "the guy" on a team. 1st round exits. he is older too.

The Dallas protected first is of little value. Scola has to be moved to clear up the PF logjam and he has little value in a trade except for a max contract type of player. Lowry needs for obvious reasons to leave town. You accept back 3.5 million in salary which saves the Lakers a luxury tax of $14 million in the 2013-2014 season.

Seems like a no brainer for all involved parties.

Pau's contract cripples the Lakers for next couple of seasons. They will be over the LT next season too. Meaning no MLE for the next two years.

No bail out, no Pau trade. Let the Lakers die a slow death.

And how long ago was that? And I don't know if you have noticed it but an impact center would sure help the Rockets next year.

So we're exchanging missing the playoffs every year to 1st round exits then? Where do I sign?

how long ago was that? thats the point. if he couldnt do it while he was in memphis, no way he does it here. he wasnt even good in the playoffs this past season, and gasol would be horrible at center for us. he would get bodied bad by physical centers. he is best at power forward.

    I'd rather rebuild
