If DM fails to do this he should be fired, right?

Nope. He should be rewarded for not completely destroying the team.

Here's an idea: What if Daryl "The Smartest Man in the Room" Morey were to go out and get two life sized cutouts of Dwight Howard & Deron Williams and hold a presser to announce their "signing" to the Rocketsheep faithful. Why Les could be there, the Rockets Power Dancers, Clutch the Bear - everybody. Why it would be a real celebration! How in the world could you fire DM after that?

Aw, c'mon DD. That was meant to give you a chuckle as I sense a wee bit of grumpiness. I should have added a smiley face :). But you got to admit that it's a terrific idea. After all folks here want want Morey to get both Howard & Williams well HERE THEY ARE - Let the rejoicing begin.

Kobe is over the hill and Rose is too injury prone. Light sabers could help the team though.

Yeah I think lightsabers could be a factor in the playoffs. But if there was a way to sign this guy than I think the Rockets are a championship type team.

The team would look like this

    Williams
    Luke Skywalker
    Parsons
    Scola
    Howard

    ^^^ = Win

No , if Morey is fired , we lose .... He's done a good job considering the circumstances. That would be a win for the team that hires him moments after his release from the Rockets.

Les needs to fire himself .... That would be a win for us fans.

Sure Les has two championships .... that he walked into. Whats he won since Hakeem and Clyde ?!!? That would be three straight #14 picks.

Its Deron and Dwight or go bust if we wanna compete now. There is no way in hell we can compete now against the best in the NBA without Deron and Dwight. So we try and land those two and those two only and no one else. If we wanna compete now there is now there is no point in going after 2nd tier or 3rd Tier players. And thats what everyone else is - 2nd tier and 3rd tier.

So if we cant compete now ........

Gut everything and I mean everything for Three Top 5 Picks + 4/5 other high 1st round picks in the next 3 years. Then just hope and pray the next 3 drafts can produce some goodies.

Dwight didn't wanna come the first time and just to avoid being sent to the Rockets he opted back in to a worthless Magic team just to see his season end with a back injury.

I would love to be wrong but there are too many suitors that would love to trade for a season full of Dwight Howard at least, and some.

I don't think he or Deron will be in Houston. We have to find another way to bring max talent here.

Unless Boston comes out of the woodwork offering Pierce and Rondo or the Clippers come out of the woodwork offering Blake and Deandre, then our main concern is Orlando talking Dwight into extending.

Remember, Dwight and Deron are watching the Finals right now. They are seeing two teams with 3 superstars that they are going to have to go through to win championships. Dwight is looking at his team in Orlando. Deron is looking at the Nets. There is nobody in free agency that is going to make Orlando able to beat the Heat next season. Even if they bring in somebody like Nash, they aren't going to be able to beat the heat. Deron knows it isn't happening next season in New Jersey and they both know that just the two of them isn't enough even if they do get together in 2013-14.

So, what do you think is going through their minds right now? Dwight is deciding whether or not he wants to stick it out for a career in Orlando....for a career. He's kicking around being the eternal team mascot and possibly never winning a championship vs. moving on and getting into a situation where he can compete for championships for the next 5-8 years. I don't know what he is going to decide but Dwight is the one that is going to decide whether he stays in Orlando or moves on. I suspect he's got about 10 more days to think about it. And then it could get real crazy.

THERE ARE VERY FEW TEAMS THAT HAVE THE ABILITY TO ACQUIRE DWIGHT AND STILL SIGN DERON AND STILL HAVE ENOUGH PIECES LEFT OVER TO MAKE A SERIOUS RUN. REMEMBER THAT.

Unfortunately, many here on ClutchFans are so hurt about the past scornings of star players not wanting to come here that they can't see the situation for what it is. Dwight is not the one we are trying to please(intially), it's Orlando! They CAN NOT keep Dwight. He will leave and this is the ONLY opprtunity to send out some off those HORRIBLE contracts they have. Houston is the perfect trading partner for what Orlando needs. They give them many different combinations of vets, young players, expirings, and draft picks while taking back contracts.
After Houston offers a package Orlando likes, they get Dwight Howard, period! After that, Houston can easily free up the cap space to sign DWill. If they(Dwight and Deron) were free agents, they may not choose to sign in Houston, but with the situation the way it is, they may very well decide to team up here instead of waste another year of their careers in a place they don't want to be in.
I, like jopatmc, am a strong believer that Houston are in a very good spot to pull this off, not because of homerism or uneducated zeal, but because of the facts of the situation.
Jopatmc- to you I say, Preach On and I Stand With YOU!!! LOL!

no way..when we had gotten TMac, we actually had a star player in Francis. We have nothing at the moment. We need to tank and draft Shabazz Muhammed
