Remains to be seen. Even with 3 goals, their finishing was terrible and the midfield doesn't look good. Way too many missed passes and crappy touches. Still, this was a great game to watch. Walcott was fantastic from the moment he stepped on the field.
What a fantastic match between Sweden and England. These types of matches are what keeps a guy like me, who doesn't have a team in this field, watching.
Joe Hart should have walked over to Ibra's face and trollololold after the game. Said something like "I'm sorry I couldn't hear you over the sound of your elimination"
For a team fielding Carroll up front? I think that's a good result. Many (including me) were singing doomsday when we heard Carrot was starting. Besides many discounted England to even reach the knockout stages to begin with. So any win is a good result IMO. What's surprising is Sweden not getting any points on the board.
<br> Eh, it's really not that surprising that Sweden performed so poorly. When you have a world class player who is in the top players of the last decade at his position you should do better. I have to put a lot of the blame on ibrahimovic. He should have led the team from the front for years now, but just disappears in major competitions. Surprisingly he's more of a non-factor in international cups than in the champions league, which i really didn't think was possible for a player his caliber. It's sad too, because at his best he is amazing to watch and I like rooting for him. It's just obvious he just can't produce for the national team.
Let's not forget that they always played great Qualifications and were okay at group stage. They still didn't impress me with their draw and barely winnin vs. Sweden. If you look at their way to WC 2010, they looked way better back then and had really impressive results.
I thought England were quite mediocre to be honest. Maybe Rooney will bring them up a notch, we'll see. Germany or Spain would crush them the way they're playing.

I actually expected more from Sweden. I thought Ibra was gonna show up, especially with this silly taunt in Hart's face after SOMEONE ELSE scored. wtf was that all about? But the one I was most disappointed in was Larsson. I really liked his game with Sunderland this past season. Dude had some real amazing goals and caried that team in spite of Bendtner. As a Pool fan, though, I'm relieved Gerrard and Carrot hasn't disappointed, especially the latter. Praying Henderson and Downing could get some minutes and really impress so we can sell those bums on a high.
Beautiful stuff. Music by those prattish brothers from the blue side of Manchester bringing the Swedes and English fans together. Perhaps the Russian, Polish and Croatian fans should take note.
