Yeah I have some as well. Definitely overpriced but they are great headphones and I'm really happy with em. They've also lasted longer than any of my previous ones.

The question is why do you guys buy them when they are clearly overpriced and you get much better headphones in that price range? Just because they are in-fashion?

If by nest bass you mean most bass I might agree. They aren't terrible, but they would be for me. Balanced>>>>bass heavy for my tastes

Built quality is the biggest weakness of Beats. They can't compare to similarly priced headphones there.

Shure 440. Go around the ear, and are closed, meaning comfort and isolation. Foldable with detachable locking cable for the best portability. And a very similar sound to the very popular Shure 840.

But you're doing yourself a huge disservice by not considering open back headphones. Some of the best entries in your price range are Grados sr60's, sr80's or Alessandro MS1's, all are open back. Considered "best" because they have such a distinct sound that usually makes your listening more enjoyable.

for the price range u mentioned, only grado's are going to be affordable there. but u wont' get noise cancelling. otherwise for $200 more, bowers & wilkins or denon are tops

You can find Alessandro MS-1 cans for around $100.

    Avoid Bose and Dre's.

i started a thread like this a year ago... my problem is one bud always goes out in any pair of buds i buy - from $10 to $300 buds.

the latest I bought in December still have 2 functioning buds... i am amazed... they are the Dre buds... the start/stop functionality wired into the buds stopped working LOOOOOONG ago... but the fact that both buds still function after 6 months of wear and tear after no other buds in the last 4 years has lasted more than 2 months for me sold me on Dre.

These are $149 but nice. they work with Ipod,Iphone, have a mic so you can take calls. sound great. Biggest drawback is the lack of deep bass. If you don't listen to all rap or dance you really don"t notice. The bottom right pair was actually my fathers day gift last year.

And if you want to try a cheaper version, I bought this pair at Ross for $20. http://www.whoaorno.com/default.aspx?pic=200 Has the same features for a cheaper price. Ross always rotates them out, so you have to go in a few times to find a style you like.
