I need recommendations on some good moving companies that will take my stuff out of storage in Dallas (about a 1 bedroom apartment worth of stuff) and move it over to Houston. (Sugar Land) Budget is about a $1,000. Anybody have any good experiences with companies that they might recommend? Thank in advance
Fixed. But... just to help... have you called 3-men movers or All My Sons? I hear they're the shiznits when it comes to moving... locally, though... so I don't know about long distance. Good luck with your research, man. Welcome back to H[ome]-town.
Get a Penske Truck with a trailer for your vehicle. Hire 3 men movers to load up the truck in Dallas and unload it in Houston. The actual truck/trailer rental should be less than 300 dollars.
we moved within houston and even that cost $1K will you be loading/unloading everything to/from the truck?
I moved from Houston to Austin last year, and paying someone to move it for me was ridiculous in price. What I ended up doing was renting a U-Haul and then paying guys to load and unload the truck. You can hire the helpers directly on the U-Haul site at the same time you get the truck. I had to drive the 26 foot truck which scared the hell outta me, but I made it. I'm sure for a 1 bedroom apartment you can get a much smaller one. I still think it's worth it to just hire movers if you are moving within the same town, but the above is a good option if you are moving a longer distance if you're looking to save money.
I used my option and just got some people to help me load unload a 1 bedroom. Total cost was 1 day of frustration (loading, driving the 26 foot truck with your car in the back) and about $300.
If you do it on a weekend when my friends and I aren't working, we'll do it for you as long as you pay for the uhaul and truck.
That first morning you wake up in Houston as a resident after year(s) of living in that hellhole feels like heaven.
