In that context Andre is 2nd most important. We saw Brown replaced for 4 games and went 3-1. Foster missed a few games last year and our running game was dominant.

Even if you disagree with that, the metric is bad. Our passing yards went up with Andre out because his replacements are better than Schaub's. His replacements are Foster and the TE's. Foster has Tate as a backup. Brown has Butler who handled his business in 2010. Schaub has a 5th round rookie and his position is one where he never comes out of the game. You can't use that to compare football players of different positions, it just doesn't work.

Butler is no longer Brown's back-up, though. And while yes, Tate is absolutely a viable back-up - he's not as good as Arian. For a game or two, we might not miss Foster - but an extended time? We most assuredly would. But Brown might very well be #2 now. And we all saw how vital Schaub was last year.

It's not a knock on Andre as much as it's a credit to the team around him finally catching up to (and, in some cases, surpassing) him.

I'm not sure that they wouldn't swing Butler over to LT if Brown went down and let Newton take over RT duties.

AJ is the second most talented WR in the league. He will make the list if it is based on talent, not injuries.

Feel free to show me a superior method to compare among positions. I'm not a stat geek when it comes to football, and more or less just go by what I see on the field. And I'm interested in any nice metrics that can objectively compare different positions.

Some players of the houston texans tweet about foster being #25.
I found this on the texans official site

Watched last night. Nice how every other players had players from other teams boasting on their abilities, but Arian gets Jacoby Jones and Amobe, former Texans talking about him. Crock 'o' ****.

True, plus their segments are only like 2 minutes long.

Arian is the type of personality that will take this personally. Its just going to make him work harder.

Just think he averaged 150 total yards per game last year - If he even replicates that for a full 16 games, (forget for a sec, he could do better) ... that right there is MVP-type numbers . . . btw, love seeing his teammates having his back out loud like that :)

Well, I don't know about that - but, based on the previews for this week's show, it looks like he'll be featured. I still maintain AJ over Foster is ridiculous.

In all fairness, the Brian Cushing segment was awesome. They showed all the great mic'd up stuff from last year that we all loved.

Watch NFL Network tonight at 7pm CT to view "The Top 100: Players of 2012" #s 11-20. A Houston Texans player will be featured, joining these teammates already listed: RB Arian Foster (#25), LB Brian Cushing (#54), CB Johnathan Joseph (#73).

Andre is the only one it could be.

Love Andre to death...but come on man....This is the 2012 rankings, not career. Foster should of been ranked higher than him.
