Some of you may have seen the WSHH post of Canibus' preceding actions in this rap battle. But I wanted to point out the new direction rap battles are going, there are less and less freestyles, and these written rhymes are accepted. This battle was unlimited for example, letting an emcee prove his prowess with memorized lines and freestyles. I also like how technical one can get, and the different styles produced through this type of battling. Before y'all comment on Canibus' fate after his battle remember this classic first. Also y'all have to admit Dizaster is an impressive battle emcee. And here is the infamous battle: Thoughts?
I. Could. Not. Believe. I couldn't fathom how badly Bis tarnished his legacy with this And regardless of any excuse anyone has for Canibus or even if you can't stand rap, what Dizaster did was AMAZING. As far as writing/penning SONGS that may contain battle rhymes.. There was once upon a time where Canibus >>>> majority of the game. But when it comes to THIS format... Canibus could have spit his greatest ever and would have lost to Diz. Diz came prepared for 98 Canibus and IMO would have beat him too. The personal punches, rhyme schemes, breath control, Diz had it in the bag. For anyone pressing play and abandoning the video after the first 5 minutes, you're cutting yourself short. Just check out 16:00 , 29:00 , 41:00 Canibus just further proved he's Super Nintendo status
Lol they even edited the awkward silences Canibus held the crowd hostage to down about 5 minutes. This guy had 6 months to get his **** straight and waited for the "last 3 weeks" smh
#Epic that being said im wondering why i have never seen this... i might have came acrossed it and decided not to watch it considering it was 50 minutes long... but after watching it i am glad i did... Cannibus was once a great, untill em killed his career like he did many others... appreciate the find my friend...
the most awkward and probably canibus's most embarrassing moment ever was when he admitted he lost and to pull out the pad... immediatly followed by no one wanting to hear his rhymes... May canibus rest in peace...
I remember being excited about Canibus' first release after hearing him randomly here and there in the early 90's, but man that album sucked so bad I never have even downloaded any of his songs for free since then.
I'll check that out later. When I first saw Canibus at a Fugees concert, then saw his verse in LL Cool J's "4,3,2,1" vid, I was entralled. He was the next era of rap. But GOODNESS what a letdown his 1st album was. Wyclef didnt do a good job producing to his strengths, but Canibus showed what he was - articulate and deep in subjects and metaphors, nice in flow, but very one-dimensional in battle mentality and delivery. He couldnt "ride" with the beat. Its all about him and his own "genius" and everybody move out the way. He's had some sporadic moments through the years since then, but ultimately....trying to think of an athlete comparison. Kinda like Stephon Marbury. All the talent, the hype, the potential, the support to be the one of the greatest. But misguided in his own ways and stubborn with his direction. Anyway, just an excuse to post some stuff. Early 90's tune I ran into, when he was with the group "T.H.E.M". Rap how it used to be at its raw lyricism roots.
I was watching a hijacked stream while this was going on between the games commercial breaks and THANK GOD this whole thing started after the game. I've been following this battle league for sometime now.. So hearing that 'Bis was going to take part in this I immediately thought he was putting his own head under water. Times have changed, yall. The battle rappers these days are a whole new breed.. it's a boxer fighting in a mma fight. I really wanted it to be a great, close battle for the ages but lol.... When he started his first round I was all But knowing Diz, I still felt like he was in over his head... and when Canibus first started choking I was all ...and then he kept on choking?? And refused to end the round I knew he didn't have the gas in his tank for two more rounds. Depending on who was rapping I was caught between or I thought I had seen the worse of Canibus already... with all of this hype, with all of his legacy... I already felt embarrassed for Bis, Organik (the guy who runs the whole thing) and everyone who paid $30 bucks to stream or $70 bucks to attend... At one point in life I really looked up to this man as an assassin-like emcee. So to hear Bis secede after the 2nd round hurt my soul.... BUT WHEN THIS MAH****A BROUGHT OUT A NOTEBOOK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
LOLOLOL... It gets worse. Y'all seriously need to watch this... it's Canibus' brother in denial and pain. It really starts around the 4 minute mark, I think.... NSFW and where is this fool? At a McDonald's playground? LOLOL :
Just read on Dizaster's twitter that LL blocked him for what he said at the end. lol. This stuff is hilarious.
Man y'all are dissin my man Bis'. His brother is tripping though, I didn't want to post this but he's smoking in a children's playground speaking expletives, and being quite irrational, "You ain't rapping ***ga, its a different form of rap not rappin'!" For y'all enjoyment, Canibus starring in The Notebook
