I think as long as the batter still is recorded as a out .

At first I was mad, but oh well. This is a young team that is fun to watch, and the Giants just had one of those special nights. Not much you can do when a pitcher is in the zone and his defense has his back.

You don't get errors for plays that happen in foul territory

    It happens a lot.

When a dude is throwing a no-hitter/perfecto, they usually cheer it on. It's an amazing feat. There have only been 22 Perfect games in the history of MLB.

Really? When would there be a play in foul territory that gets you an error?

the strike zone was very questionable. altuve got called out on a pitch that was at eye level.. while that might be a in the zone for others but not for altuve..

when you drop a routine pop up that is in foul territory that should be caught.

I was telling my buddies here in SF that any perfect game against the Astros should come with an asterisk.

here...they even include a perfect game note.

An error can be charged on a catchable ball hit in foul territory that is dropped, even though the batter does not reach base and the runners cannot advance: the mere fact of the at bat being unduly prolonged is enough to merit the error. Thus, a pitcher may pitch a perfect game in spite of his team being charged with an error, if the error occured under such circumstances.

Unbelievable game and I am a die hard Giants fan. Watch almost every game. That catch by Blanco was unnreal!

I was telling a friend before this season started who was the best righty he said Doc or Verlander. I disagreed and said Cain.

It wasn't a surprise that Cain got this tonight, he flirted with no-hitters throughout his career. I believe earlier this year he had a 1 hit shutout.

Matt Cain has to be arguably the best righty in the game now?

Astros are 16th out of 30 in OBP, so yes Matt... it counts.

And no, Cain is not anywhere close to being the best RHP in the game right now, perfect game notwithstanding. He has one season over 5 WAR and two seasons over 4 WAR. Mehhh.
