Dwight Howard is only good (and is really good) at dominating fake centers, which unfortunately are pretty much all we have today in the NBA. He can't do anything against a real center.

Man Kobe Bryant is really started to get vastly overrated.. Now he's so good that he makes the redeem team look better than the dream team?

Yeah, I think Hakeem just didn't get as pumped up for the non-NBA games. Even in the all-star games, Dream was usually pretty passive and deferred to the other guys. He saved up his energy to dominate Ewing, Robinson, and Shaq I guess.

In the 30 for 30 on Magic, Magic talked about Isiah like a friend, and you could see them having a good time during the 1992 all-star game.

Except for the prime MJ, Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Mullin, Drexler, Pippen, Robinson, Ewing...

Even without Bird and Magic, who were both limited during those Olympics, I'd still favor the Dream Team.

I remember reading all I could about the tryouts. I am still pissed at Knight for making Barkley the last cut. Should have taken him over one of the K stiffs.

Oh, and by the way, 1992 wins. In the psychological battle, the 2008 team would be France.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but the competition the original dream team faced wasn't that good at the time. Put them against the teams the redeem team faced and no way there would be 50 point wins.

the 2008 team would probably beat the 1992 team, but a lot of that has to do with that the 92 team were carrying a lot of lifetime achievers (Broken Bird, retired Magic), in terms of career talent, the 92 team was miles ahead of 08.

are they playing by international rules? It was more of an up and down game and it would favor the 08 team

Bird and Magic (well, and Laettner) were the only players on that team who weren't in their primes. And Magic in 1990-91 had averaged 19/7/12.5

    Player - Age (1991-92 PPG/RPG/APG)
    Bird - 35 (20.2/9.6/6.8)
    Drexler - 30 (25.0/6.6/6.7)
    Stockton - 30 (15.8/3.3/13.7)
    Ewing - 29 (24.0/11.2/1.9)
    Jordan - 28 (30.1/6.4/6.1)
    Malone - 28 (28.0/11.2/3.0)
    Mullin - 28 (25.6/5.6/3.5)
    Barkley - 28 (23.1/11.1/4.1)
    Pippen - 26 (21.0/7.7/7.0)
    Robinson - 26 (23.2/12.2/2.7)

No one will ever match the talent of the original dream team but even the 96 team was amazing and would wipe the floor against the 08 team..

Shaq, Olajuwon, Robinson would have dominated inside

    Charles Barkley
    Penny Hardaway
    Grant Hill
    Hakeem Olajuwon
    Karl Malone
    Reggie Miller
    Shaquille O'Neal
    Gary Payton
    Scottie Pippen
    Mitch Richmond
    David Robinson
    John Stockton
