the Kings should have shopped him before his weaknesses were exposed. His value has dropped significantly.

Well, they had managed to ship Kevin Martin before his weaknesses were exposed. :(

This has been discussed in the Sacramento #5 pick thread, though it wasn't as obvious then that he was being shopped.

In short, I would trade for Evans, if the #5 also came with it.

With all due respect, I dont think there is a chance in hell of aquiring both. Both the pick, and Evans will seperately have all-star/high lotto quality value on the trade market for Sacramento to even seriously consider an offer.

Could the Rockets get both in a mega move? Maybe, but its doubtful they have the assets to pull it off and still keep themselves in the running to aquire a superstar that they sorely crave like Dwight Howard.

Compared to what we've done to this point, its real close. Just for the record, I'm for having a fire sale and completely starting over. This is nothing that others haven't posted before but in terms of Tyreke, I think we should roll the dice. He's had some success and is very gifted. Really what do we have to lose?

It's possible if they want an addition by subtraction move. A team like philly would be good for them trade wise. Garcia, Evans, Hayes and #5 for iggy and their pick

Dont get me wrong, it would be my plan C if we fail getting Dwight or even Pau. Something has to give and Tyreke is young enough for me to still bite on his upside.

A 4th consecutive 14th pick in the NBA Draft..... Houston needs to make some sort of move ASAP

Anytime you see a rumor you have to consider whether it could be true and under what circumstances does it make the most sense.

In my opinion, Sacramento is wanting to do two things. They want to move Tyreke out now because his value is going down and they are hoping to get somebody else to bite on giving them a draft pick for him so they can move up to #2 and take most likely Thomas Robinson to pair with Cousins. If they could get the #6 or #11 pick or possibly #8 or some other lottery pick, it may be enough to get Charlotte to move down to #5. I'm thinking Charlotte wants Beal and if Cleveland is really sold on Barnes, which looks to be the case, then Beal is most likely there at #5. Davis, Robinson, MKG, Barnes, Beal.

So, looking behind the scenes, knowing Sacramento is a lottery team, knowing that realistically Drummond and Cousins play the same position, and even if Drummond turns out to be good, they DO NOT complement each other, and also knowing that Sacramento really can't afford to miss on a pick, I suspect they are wanting out of the #5 spot and would really like to move up to get a guy that fits a lot better alongside Cousins. And the bait is likely Tyreke since they really have no one else available (Cousins is not available) that could possibly net them a lottery pick (Frankly, I wouldn't give up a first round pick for Tyreke, but perhaps there's a sucker out there.). So, Sacramento is on a sucker chase right now to see what Tyreke's trade value is. Good luck with that.

For people wanting Tyreke, we can trade down and pick a Tyreke clone in Tony Wroten. He has very similar phisical attributes and style at 19 years old. We can get him at late first or early second at a fraction of cost of Tyreke and he may develop into a better player.

Which is exactly where the Rockets are...they need to take steps like this to try to reach the bigs.

What do you think would be a fair trade to take on Tyrekes contract and get the #5 pick?

    Exclude Lowry from your deal.

I would think 2 former lotto picks (Pat/Pat/Morris #14, Scola and a future top 5 lotto protected #1, while the Rockets also take on a bad contract or 2 should get a deal done.

The Maloofs a having financial troubles and a deal llike this could help them out plus add good young talent to their roster.

As much as people hate Tyreke I would rather make a trade for him than a over the hill Gasol.

If the price was right I would absolutely trade for Evans. The Rockets need to make major moves. Evans is raw and very much a work in progress. It's unfair to write him off at this point. He'd come in and be the best player on the Rockets.

If Evans was still in rookie season form, evenone on this board would want him on this team. He's better than Kevin Martin that's for damned sure lol.

I'd trade for him without a doubt. He has potential and if he's surrounded by the right guys, he can be effective.

Maybe my sarcasm detector is malfunctioning, but I actually believe you are serious here. If so, it makes me question whether you actually watch basketball or not.
