Just wondering if you guys would invest into trading for Tyreke Evans? He is a former ROY and has tremendous upside potential with proper coaching/system. hybrid guard, but mainly a 2 guard who loves to dribble (TMacesque). Dude is a beast, but he needs the rock in his hands to be effective. Do you guys think Lowry + Scola for Reke and (either Salmons, Thorton, Chuckster) would be a good trade? Might be a reach/long shot, but would there be a possibility of getting their draft pick and/or Demarcus Cousins as well?
Selfish, inefficient machine gunner who has no understanding of team concept and is considered uncoachable. PASS This team needs to be focused on real frontcourt help, not backcourt volume shooters
Hmm inefficient ball stopper hybrid guard that has a bad attitude and often broke offensive sets to monopolize the ball? Oh I forgot, he will also be looking to be paid soon.... You want to trade an efficient, well rounded point guard under contract for less than market value... For.... THAT? Nope... Might deal some of our own garbage for him, but nothing more. I want the #5 from them if they want Lowry.
Why does every thread have this trade possibility in it? I already know just from reading these boards passively that half the members here think he is a ball stopper that can't play team ball and doesn't help a team to win. While the other half think he has shown great promise to improve and someone who can put up 20-5-5 like he did his rookie year can be a special player. It is basically split down the middle as far as who wants him and who doesn't.
Tyreke at this point has to be considered as much of a gamble as T-Will, and Thabeet were considered to be by the Rockets. There are no guarantees that this guy is going to be anything more than JR Smith 2.0. He had an impressive rookie campaign from a statistical standpoint but he's shown no growth in the past season, and has proved to be a black hole offensively. Still he has elite attributes that has the word potential written all over it. We all know the Rockets need that "P" word in small doses. There will be a team that gives up way too much to aquire him so I dont think that Houston would be a serious buyer, but it wouldn't surprise me if they threw an offer on the table that they could live with.
I would give up Pat-Pat, Bud-Morris and # 16 for Evans and # 5. Then I would trade Lowry to Portland for #6 or Toronto for #8. Having picks # 5/6/14 without having to give up a core piece and adding Tyreke as a 6th man. Adding Motie would allow the Rox to add some great young talent and rebuild on the fly. Which is what Les wants to do. Imagine adding Beal/Leonard/Jones to go with Motie and Tyreke as a combo PG/SG coming off the bench. That's an exciting young team.
I'm gonna be that predictable dude who jumps in and says, Sure, I'd trade for Tyreke Evans, but only if there's a deal out there with a third team that actually, really wants him. Me? I want that #5 pick. Heck, for the right price, I want Chuck back. Tyreke Evan's talented, the guy's been poorly coached, somebody needs to crack it through his thick skull that he has four teammates on the floor with him. Is that going to be our coaching staff? I have my doubts.
Problem is A) He wont want to be a 6th man and B) You cant build a team around someone who jacks up 30 a game, unless its Kobe.
Well, of course you would do that. And in a world where the Kings' GM is Homer Simpson, then perhaps we could pull it off.
