The thing that's scary about OKC is that as well as they've played tonight they can play even better. They are so talented and so deep. For Miami, their only hope is that Wade somehow returns to his mid 2000 form next game. Game 2 is a must win for the Heat. If they lose game 2 the series is over. The 2-3-2 format gives a huge advantage to the team with home court advantage because it's very hard to sweep the middle three games.
If you are going to use him like he's Haslem, that's what you get. Unfortunately, LeBron's turning Wade into Mo Williams without the 3 ball, and Bosh into Z. Because LeBron can only play this style and everybody has to make way for him.
Westbrook is a great player, a rising star. He has a phenomenal PER and advanced stats and tonight's performance is no exception. But how does that discount him lofting up shots or driving 1 on 3 when Durant has inside position in an iso situation and calling for the ball 5+ times tonight (which was clearly the play Brooks wanted to run)? Westbrook contributed in many all-round ways, had 11 asts, 8 rebounds, great D on Wade... but that has nothing to do with not passing to the most amazing scorer in the game right now. Fish btw, has a better AST/TO ratio by a full point in the postseason; who's to say passing the ball around wouldn't create more efficient assists for the team as a whole? Westbrick went 10-24 or 41.7% while Durant went 12-20 or 60%, while having higher FT% and making 4 from downtown. It's not rocket science. He's not passing to Durant on offense (who is getting double teams immediately) when he should.
How about dominate sefolosha and westbrook in the post? Or let Bosh play in the post and do some C&S? You can't ask bosh to play 18 ft out and criticize his offensive rebounding at the same time. Sorry, LeBron just doesn't have those skills.
Yes, just like Dirk bailing out Carlisle and Kobe/Shaq/MJ/Pippen bailing out Phil, as well as the big 3 bailing out Rivers. After Brooks has led the Thunder to 3 championships, I'm sure it will be more of the same.
Yeah. His play is bad. Even when he makes them. Having your PF standing on te 3pt line when you have no inside game sucks...
Chris Bosh is a softy. Whatever minimal inside game he has is marginalized once you get physical with him. He is a jump shooting PF who is a mediocre rebounder and defender. James harden brings a lot more to the OKC as the third option than Bosh does for the Heat. I wouldnt even take Bosh over Ibaka who can change the complexion of games with his shot blocking.
He needs to stick to the corner 3. Miami doesn't need to panic just yet. They'll be in decent shape if they can take care of their home-court. Let's see what unfolds. Btw, Westbrook is a douche.
If I were putting money on it, I'd bet that Game 2 for the Thunder goes similarily to Game 2 of the 1995 Finals. After falling behind and not playing well in the first half of Game 1 that year, the Rockets took control in the second half. They came out in Game 2 firing on all cylinders. I don't expect Harden to be held in check like that again. I don't expect the bench to contribute for Miami the way it did in Game 1 (I'm looking right at you, Shane Battier). Thunder win Game 2 convincingly.
^That crowd is ridic so it wouldn't surprise me. But Bosh and Wade could play better. Shane is a starter technically. Lebron will check Harden all series. That's not a good hting for him.
Try watching the 2012 playoffs then get back to me. Anybody pinning game 1 on LeBron shouldn't be commenting on basketball. Wade played like a dog vs Boston and he played like a dog last night. Perhaps he's not healthy, but unless Wade picks his game up, the Heat are done. It's certainly not LeBron holding Wade back.
Try taking a Basketball 101 class then come back and comment with the big boys. You come across as a petty LeBron hater that has no understanding of basketball. Bosh is not a back to the basket player. He wasn't that player in Toronto, nor at Georgia Tech. He's a face up jump shooter that doesn't like to bang inside. Also, LeBron did try and post Sefolosha, but Sefolosha stayed between him and the basket, bodied him up, and forced him into difficult shots with Nick Collison serving as a help defender.
They aren't going to win all 3 at home, and unless Bosh and Wade pick up their games, OKC probably wins 2 in Miami.
