And here we are a few months later...
Did people say that LeBron didn't train? I saw this morning's ESPN piece. The showing of LeBron training with Durant was mainly to give the impression of "friendship" between the two guys in order to expel the notion that Durant was the "anti-LeBron."
I had never heard of people saying LeBron doesn't train. In fact, all I heard all offseason is how he was trying to improve by learning from the Dream and what not. And all before this season how it was going to be a "new look" Heat due to what he did in the offseason.
I thought the same thing. Lebron can train with jesus but until he shows that he has changed as a person, every basketball fan with the exception of the witnesses, the state of florida and Seattle will still feel the same towards him.
Watch the video. It was the whole point of the Durant interview and the introductory comments by the host. edit: I meant the Sportscenter piece this morning, not the embedded video in this thread.
Casual fans are often guilt of that. They don't follow the game very much. I've heard types like that say how come NBA players don't train, like NFL players are they lazy or something. No wonder basketball is inferior to football. You cannot put too much stock into what those types say ... As far as Lebron, he might be arguably the best conditioned athlete in history in the discussion with Wilt, Big O, and Elgin Baylor.
LeBron's upper body reminds me of myself. Lower body, I'd have to say Derek Fisher. Make of it what you will, but that's just how I was put together. European legs, hemi powered upper body. Grace of a swan, but the eyes of an eagle. Skin of Aphrodite, hair of Zeus.
