If the private sector is doing fine, that would imply that there is enough tax base to fund the public sector w/o the massive cuts right?

His aim is to provoke response and annoy you guys - he's got you all up in a tissy.

When no one responds to his threads anymore, then I will agree his tricks don't work anymore.

This is a stupid line of reasoning. The conservatives that want SS and Medicare reformed are free to not take or use any of those benefits. Yet they never opt out. Yet still the b**** about Buffet not voluntarily paying more taxes.

If you are philosophically opposed to SS and Medicare, you can opt out.

but warren wants everybody similarly situated to pay more taxes, and yet won't himself- seems like a much greater hypocrisy.

Only to those blinded by Fox.

ETA: Buffett is willing to and will pay those higher taxes as soon as everyone is required to do so. To do otherwise would be as stupid as paying into SS for 50+ years and then not taking the benefit upon retirement.

paying into it and not taking out would only help the debt situation that most people opposed to current levels of SS and Medicare cite as their reasons for wanting cuts.

Buffet can opt to pay what the IRS says that he owe.
    But... he's still fighting it.
