BTW I thought it was cool to see Prime from the Plus 8 club from The IT Crowd. I couldn't stop wondering for the first few minutes where I knew him from.

And Charlize Theron in that fully covered bodysuit is like Princess Leia in slave costume for 2012 IMHO.

I admire those that are trying to polish the Lindelof turd. But its still a turd.

Movie looked amazing and had some really nice moments, but man is there a lot of stupidity in that plot.

    Saw this today.

Cool visuals. Good cast. But clearly edited by Adam Sandler. It was lacking a lot, but most obviously missing was the character development that Scott's great movies have. Why are people doing what they do? Who knows in this flick.

I understood the basic idea. The rest was fleshed out by this thread.

Crossing my fingers for the Director's Cut.

    6/10

Sadly, word's come down that while there will be ~half hour worth of deleted scenes coming....Scott will not release an actual Extended Cut, calling the film in theaters his director's cut.

Agreed about the character development. I feel like the people behind the film had awesome character sketches....but didn't get around to showcasing them in the film for us.

Prometheus' largest failing is their collective effort to make the entire film (backstories, characters, main plot devices) hidden by an obscured viewing angle for the watcher. And I will say, that stinks to high heaven of Lindelof's days of c***teasing LOST fans. (but this is Scott's film and he clearly went for it)

Put in the hidden stuff for the diehards...but 95% of people don't go to the theater to get skullf***ed.

The majority of the "hidden stuff" and explanations that people are coming up with are purely conjecture and fanboy extrapolations. Some of these online articles that "flesh out" Prometheus are basically creating an entire mythos for the film that isn't on the screen. They type it, readers think it sounds cool and makes the movie "deeper" than it appeared so they say that works.

I'm pretty sure Scott just told Collider that there WOULD be a Director's Cut..

and honestly, how can there NOT be? It is a 100% certainty there will be, especially now, but they don't want to stifle actual ticket sales at this time by announcing that the theatrical version is not the good one.

Completely unrelated to the movie…but I watched it at the Alamo Drafthouse at West Oaks mall…Lady a few seats over completely shat herself…**** was all over the floor…one of the nastier things I’ve witnessed in person. I think she was a diabetic.

"On the menu" sounds to me like "extras"...but maybe there will be some level of an extended version. I hope so.

Hell, any dollar theater offers that. I thought Alamo was suppose to be exclusive.

Really? I'm going to give Ridley and Lindelof more credit than that. Even Scott himself give hints that fit almost perfectly well with some have theorizes. The movie is full of hidden symbolism. I see Ridley Scott hands written all over this when I think of Kingdom of Heaven and we should know of his stance towards religions. Ridley Scott is an Old Artsy Farts but he cuts this film to commercialize on it.

Why would you go there when Studio Movie Grille is like 10 mins away? The new Edwards theater at West Oaks will probably shut down Alamo.

Totally agree on Studio Grill…My GF’s cousin bought the tickets….Needless to say that will be the last time I go to that theater. I feel badly for the poor chap that sat in that spot the next day. Was not solid ****…was the runs….

I'm not denying some of it is in there, but some of it is totally fans/reviewers creating what they want to be there.
