It's so amazing. Doctors said that he should retire back in 2010 but he decided to play and to practice through pain for a next two years just to give himself a chance to be a part of team that hosts a European Championship... and he delivered when we needed the most I was a part of 100 000 crowd that was watching this game live on a fan zone near the stadium and it was something special for all country, not just for us
With the first round of games competed in group play, here are some observations: Group A: Russia looks like the class of the group. I don't see how they don't get all 9 points here. Second place is up for grabs as Poland, Greece and even the Czech's can all claim that spot. Group B: Who would have predicted Denmark beating Holland. While Holland out possessed them and out chanced them, Denmark didn't just get one lucky break and drop back. They had spurts throughout the match and even though they were outplayed, they weren't outclassed. Germany looks real good but that's no suprise. Gomez has the chance to break out as a striker in this tournament like David Villa did back in 08. I still think 2nd place will be a battle between Portugal and Holland. I liked Portugal against Germany and would like to see them finish 2nd in the group of death. Group C: Italy showed alot of people that they still have a strong team. Wierd seeing Spain play without a striker but they still look real good and Casillas still looks like the best goalie in the world. Croatia looked good and Ireland dissapointed but maybe Ireland was overhyped heading into the tournament. I still like Italy and Spain moving forward, but Croatia is in a good spot to advance with strong games against Italy and Spain. Ireland looks like they will be one of those zero point teams. Group D: France looked good as I thought they would and England is playing the defensive style I expected them to play against the top teams (which France appears to be). While France outpossessed England, England still had enough chances and each team could have had multiple goals in this one if it weren't for top goaltending (Hart and Lloris) with each showing why they are in the top class of the world. I expect both of these teams to roll past Sweden and Ukraine on there way to the quarterfinals.
Wow... what the hell happened to Greece? They can't seem to set up a proper attack to save their lives. Also I think I saw several challenges that deserved a red.
That's been their story for the last few years: great on defense (outside of keeper), but underwhelming on attack. I think that Poland still makes it out of this group, somehow - if second place is on the line against the Czech Republic, I think home field advantage pushes them through. I'm predicting all of this because of how dominant Russia has looked; I don't see them losing to Poland today.

That's Greece's MO. I don't know why everyone got so high on them after tying Poland, they're the worst team in the weakest group at Euro.
I grew up a Dutch fan since watching Euro 88 and Ajax winning cups. Van Basten and Gullit were my favorite players. I cannot find my self rooting for this Dutch team. After the way they embarrassed themselves in the WC final, I simply refuse. That's particularly tough today as I've always disliked Germany. I think I'll pull for Denmark to win this group. GO DANES!
Man good game. Was rooting for Agger... he did well. lol @ Ronaldo having to be bailed out by a supersub.
