A young Ray Allen is a good comparison. Unless Beal's outside shooting touch disappoints, he will be better than Eric Gordon. IMO, he's second most likely in this draft to be an impact NBA player (after Anthony Davis).

At this point I don't care much if we trade all our picks and Lowry (with a resigned Dragic back in the fold ) for the #2 pick.

I would LOVE to see what Morey does with a top 5 pick, much less a #2 pick in the draft.

I dont see the Ray Allen comparison. Other than being able to shoot, he can't play like him. Allen shoot a lot more quickly and is bigger, both of which are advantages and made him the player he was. The numbers say they're nearly the same height, but i'm not sure that's correct. If it's not the height, then it's the vertical where Allen has the advantage.

    Beal is OVERRATED

people forget how athletic a prime young Ray Ray was, also the Eric Gordon comparisons dont hold weight either. Eric Gordon was an athletic freak as an prospect

    this guy is overrated

Him and austin rivers seem like the same type of player to me. I don't understand how one is project to go top five and the other is late lottery.

Just because the Rockets would be candidates to aquire the #2 pick if the pick is in fact being shopped, doesn't mean its Beal that the Rockets would actually take.

Even if Morey has to over-pay (Give up Lowry + some) to aquire this pick it totally validates everything the Rockets have stood for the past two seasons. Which is, there are other ways to rebuild a team other than tanking(forcing your team to fix games in order to lose for more lottery balls).

I think it would be a bold move, and would shut up the fanbase, media, and agents who all blast the Rockets for actually not wanting to fix games Manny Pacquiao style just so they can have enough amunition to try and sell someone as a future star to sell tickets.

Even if you want someone that is projected to go 5 - 8, I have no problem with Morey shelling out a few extra clams to try and get a deal done with the Bobcats for this pick.

However, in my opinion here Im assuming that they are right about the guy they want down in that range like they have been the past few drafts with Rubio, Cousins, and yet to be seen with Jonas V.

I think he'll end up with the Bobcats. They may trade down a couple spots to gain an asset or two, though.

I'd be happy if the Rockets got Thomas Robinson somehow.

Outside of Anthony Davis, I see Beal as having the best chance to be an all-star player. Beal has just as much athleticism as Allen or Gordon did coming out of college and the shooting touch to go with, hence the oft comparisons.

To whoever compared Beal to Rivers is out of their minds. Rivers is much more of a finesse player than Beal, who takes it to the rim and prefers to play thru the contact.

Needless to say I like Beal a whole lot. Would be ecstatic if we had a chance to nab him this year.

I kinda have a feeling Beal is going to turn out like Randy Foye.Solid player but not the star some have him becoming.

I think Beal has all the tools to become a solid pro. Once he develops handles and the ability to create, he'll be great.

Also consider how he's only gonna be 19 when the season starts. Dude is still growing.

Drummond is the guy with the highest potential in this draft. Davis we all know is going to 5+ all star games. Rivers is the 4th best SG in the draft. There is not a lot of distance between the first 3.

Robinson's potential is equal to or less than D-Mo's. In fact equal to or much less than D-Mo's. And yes I have watched a ton of their games. Completely different styles. Robinson's game every team knows how to defend. D-Mo is not guard able by a single type player. Defensively scheming for him is going to keep NBA coaches up at night.
