Andrew Bogut he's had a solid career but I thought he was going to lead the Bucks to a title or 2. Maybe a 24-10 guy...

    Joe Alexander
    Joseph Forte
Tommy Morrison (thought he was second coming of Larry Bird)
Eddie Griffin (I knew RJeff was a big time player and if we traded him and two others for EG, then he had to be good)
Pervis Ellison - won a national championship as a college freshman and looked like a big time player. I fell for him.
Bostjan Nachbar - thought he would be a perfect fit with Yao

I can't believe someone would pick Ralph Sampson.

I would go with former Houston Cougar Rob Williams. I saw him play when he was in High School at Milby and he was amazing. He had a great college career as a Houston Cougar, and was selected in the first round by Denver. He lasted in the NBA for two years. I think drug problems did him in, very sad.

Yep Yi, could have easily been a Lamar Odom type of player with his skillset...turned out to be a nothing.

Tyrus Thomas - He had outstanding potential, but even though he's a decent player, he's nowhere near where I thought he would be.

TJ Ford - It's kind of unfair to him, because he turned out to be a pretty good player even through his injury problems... but I thought he was going to be a PG God. He had phenomenal vision in college.

    LaRue Martin

Certainly one of the biggest busts ... but ... one of the most intelligent was:

#1 first round 1st overall pick in 1972 ... LaRue Martin
.... LaRue was being subjected with lots of questions from the media like ...
.... what does it feel like to be considered a bust when you were the first
overall pick ..... and ... LaRue intelligently answered them .... "I'm playing
to the best of my ability ... I'm playing and practicing to get better as
hard as I can .... I didn't make myself the first overall pick... the Blazer
    organization did ... ASK THEM"

that year of 1972 the Trailblazers picked LaRue Martin over Hall of Famers
    BOB McADOO, and JULIUS IRVING

In later years the Blazers would bypass on Clyde Drexler, Kevin Durant, and
    Michael Jordan.

I've asked this countless times since even before he signed with the Rockets: Exactly what was his "outstanding" potential? The guy was dumb and all he could do was jump. He had no other above-average skill. What (or who) was he supposed to develop into?

The excuses people made for him after 5-6 years in the NBA made me laugh. It always had something to do with needing a coach who would be more patient with him (or something like that).

Ty Thomas signed with the Rockets?

    :p

Agree though. Never high on the guy. Could jump, some dunks, block a few shots, not much else.

    Bulls really failed there.

Besides shooting FTs better than Big Ben, what offensive skills did Oden have besides a hook shot with his palms?
