Every game. He played well. But why bring in a PF when the roster is loaded with them? And D-Mo is coming and he needs PT. He is realistically the only Rocket who could possibly make multiple WC all star teams. If you actually think that next year the Rockets should try to make a deep playoff run then would not Gasol (next to the diva Howard) be the best roster move available? And he is 4 years younger than KG.
We don't bring him in to play PF, we bring him in to play Center just like he dominated in the playoffs... But he will stay in Boston.
Uhmmm - and who was the dominant center he faced in the playoffs? Not Atlanta's - theirs was just back from a season long injury. Philidelphia - Spencer Hawes. LOL. Do the Heat even have a center??? That ***** may work in the EC but in the WC it just gets you mowed down. Gasol is obviously so much better of a choice.
People are delusional if they don't think KG would change the culture of a team defensively. All of his teammates love him (except Bill Walker), I don't know what RedRedemption is spitting. He just hates him obviously. Our own Sam Cassell loved KG. The dude plays with a fire and is one of the guys you'd love if he was on your team but hate if he's on another team.
Totally agree... If we're goin down the Pau road its to win now with a small window, in which case its smart... That said, I dont want Gasol. I woiuld rather be aggressive with a Josh Smith or Derrick Williams and build - making KG irrelevant...
Would love to have KG... He's always been my favorite non-Rocket player. So much passion and enthusiasm for the game. Let's somehow pull off a massive shocker, get Howard/DWill and then get Garnett to sign on the cheap.
KG, I doubt he leaves Boston unless he retires or if they give him a very low ball offer. The Rockets need to try to build a solid young team at this point, though KG would actually be a good addition for the Rockets for the next year or so (at a bargain). I do not care how much our power forward position is stacked or whoever is starting at center. A somewhat healthy KG would easily be the best choice at either position for a season or so. Even in his twilight year, he'd arguably be the best big man defender on the team (even Camby, and he's younger). I do not think we've got any power forward on the roster right now who could beat KG out of a spot, this upcoming season or next season. 15-8 in the regular season and nearly 20-10 in the playoffs with a declining, yet all-world defensive prowess. Defensively, KG at 36 is still probably a better defender than Scola/Patterson/Motiejunas/whoever else the Rockets sign put together. The only power forward that I see on our roster that would give us 15-8 and pretty good defense over the next 3 years is a rookie draft pick or a free agent.
I can agree with your assessment. Scola would have to go. If you want to match time horizons trade Lowry and Scola for Gasol. If you don't put a really good 5 out there with him then don't bother. Gasol/Camby KG/D-Mo/PPat Parsons/Morris or Bud Martin/Lee/draft pick Dragic/draft pick It might if everything falls the right place get you into the WCF.
Not interested; likely too much for an aging player at the "end" of his career. Drexler worked out because we had Dream. We don't have Dream anymore, as if I needed to remind us.
I'm ready to reload with new young players. I say no to KG, I say no to Gasol. Trade Lowry, sign Dragic, bring in Motiejunas, play Parsons, see if Morris is any good, draft two players in the first round, and build for the future. Lets not delay this, the time is right to move forward with a new young team.
