Agreed. If anything the draft showed me the system still has glaring holes at pitcher (especially lefty), 3B, C, and corners. A Lowrie deal could shore up 2-3 of those needs immediately.
Why in the hell is Chris Snyder playing so much? He's under the Mendoza line, has struck more than he has games played, and struggles to maintain a .600 OPS. Castro has is season OPS over .700, his OPS since mid-April in over .800, and his OPS this month is over 1.000. He' playing better in all facets and he has actual upside, while Snyder has none. So naturally they should still platooning.
I think they want to spare the mileage on Castro's knees. Castro missed all of last season with an ACL injury; it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have him catch 140+ games the first season back. No doubt he's having a good season though.
Has Wallace lost a lot of weight? He looks like a different player out there. That trade might not have been a disaster after all if he can keep swinging it like this.
Fernando obviously didnt have it. Left him in there after 2 consecutive walks with no outs. Then of course, he gives up the 3 run homer.
