My mom is paying like $150 for uverse tv/internet and I'm thinking of a way to get the permanent intro offers that they offer. Has anyone ever cancelled service and then signed up for the service again on a different name at the same address? I'm curious if that would work. Then after the intro is up again you just turn off the service again and sign up again on the previous name. Anyone tried to do this?

Why not tell them that you want to cancel the service? Then they will transfer you to retention and they will try to keep you and that's when you play hardball.

This. I once got free service for 6 months!!! If you tell them you can't afford to pay anymore, they might give you free credit to reduce your bill or give you free service for a while.

Definitely this. It's an easy way to get free stuff, works really good with Comcast, DirecTV, and Dish. I'm sure it's the same for AT&T.

Yep. Call them. I had my cable dropped $30, just for saying I don't want to pay for it any more. I ended up dropping it any ways.
