Pistons: Went to 6 straight Eastern Conference Finals and eeked out 1 title

    or

Celtics: 5 years, 4 Future Hall of Famers. 1 title. 3 of the 5 Celtics seasons have ended with blown 3-2 series leads -- and with a double-digit lead in all three Game 7s.

Remember that the Celtics should have won 1 more title. That game 7 against the lakers when rasheed wallace got those bad calls and Kobe had a horrible game was tainted. Celtics had that.

    LMAO yea right

ANd as for the 1st poster...I thought these teams were good enough to win multiple titles and winning just 1 is underachieving. So which of these two underachievers was more disappointing

Pacers weren't disappointing. They just got caught in a really stupid situation where the league had to save face and suspend basically their entire team. I have no doubt the year that Artest/Jermaine o'neal/Stephen Jackson/Tinsley all got suspended that they would have won the championship. They were just too stacked.

But yeah, I do look back on that with more disappointment than the Celtics. They got their championship, even if it was just one.

Ainge built it then he sank it. He should have extended Perkins.

Dumars also built it then sank it. He should have never traded away Billups. They sucked ever since and they dont even have good rookies in return for sucking.

Ainge trying to trade Rondo is laughable

To be fair, when Boston got their big three togther, all three of them were towards the end of their prime, they had a three year championship window and they won a title. They could have won another one had KG not got injured the year after their championship. I think you can not call that dissapointing. This year they really did not have a chance. I think they overachieved to just make it to the Eastern Finals (probably helped out by Bulls' injuries). Their window closed a couple of years ago.

Neither were disappointing, they all have rings. You're asking too much if you expect them to win it every year.

He's a Laker fan, as well as a Kobe fan. It's not hard to see. I want to see LeBron win a championship this year. See how easy that was? Didn't feel like I had to hide behind another agenda.

Pistons just couldn't get it done after Larry Brown left. stopped playing the right way. they went to the ECF in spite of Flip Saunders, who was just an average coach. to be fair the core of Billups, Rip, Prince, and the Wallaces only were together for 2 and 1/2 years, in which they went to the finals twice and won it all once. that's hardly disappointing.

the Celtics blew everyone away the first year, couldn't overcome injuries to KG the second year, and blew a golden opportunity the third year in the finals, although the loss of Perkins to injury hurt them. last year, Rondo played with a dislocated elbow, plantar fasciitis in both feet and back spasms, against a healthy and heavily favored Heat team. they lost one home game and the series was over in 5. this year, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce were shells of themselves due to age and injury (ankle and sprained MCL). they also lost Avery Bradley. health is everything for a talented but shallow team. last night, they just ran out of gas in the fourth quarter, not unlike the Spurs against the Thunder. the Celtics should have closed it out in game 6 but i don't think they could have done anything against that Lebron onslaught. heck, if Rondo just had a little more help in game 2 along with better officiating, who knows?

lot of potential has never been realized by NBA teams. the early-mid 2000 Sacramento teams were cheated by refs and injuries. an argument might be made for those deep Portland teams a few years earlier. Yao and T-Mac rarely played together in the playoffs and were only healthy during their first run with an offensively challenged coach with two very gifted offensive players. the Pacers flamed out after the Artest debacle and O'neal injuries. if the Heat fail again, you could say that they disappointed. the Mavs and Suns were among the best teams in the mid-late 2000s, but just couldn't play good defense. Orlando looked like they were just a piece or two away from being a perennial contender. now, they're likely going nowhere. the Spurs have been largely the same team for close to a decade but haven't won a title since 2007. you can't really call 4 titles (or 3 with the current core) a disappointment though. the Bulls have been overachieving the last couple years, but i think OKC might be the next great dynasty potentially denying Rose (and Lebron) a ring. at least the Pistons and Celtics did win a chip which is much more than what many other teams (underachieving or not) can say.

The Celtics big three were disappointing?

I never thought they would win more than one title, the ONLY reason they even continued to be relevant after 08 is because of the out of nowhere development of Rondo.

As far as the Pistons go, they weren't exactly disappointing either, they beat the Lakers with Shaq and Kobe. I guess it was disappointing that they got owned against Lebron and scrubs that year.

The Cetlics got really unlucky with injuries.

In 09 they took the NBA Finalist Magic to 7 without Kevin Garnett.

In 10 they lost game to the Lakers because they lost Perkins in Game 6 and the Lakers got 21312321 offensive rebounds in Game 7.

In 11 just when the series against Miami was getting interesting, Wade broke Rondo's arm.

In 12 their 3 best supporting pieces who were supposed to be very important got injured in Avery Bradley, Chris Wilcox and Jeff Green. Made Ray Ray, Pierce and Garnett play more minutes and be less effective.

Well to me the Pistons team's success were all because of Larry Brown. After Brown left, there were really nothing to disappoint about.
