and yes before you ask to end this now. I have to double post and triple to make things clear in Clutchfans. It does take research and time and effort to bring up the answers to those questions by looking up all those deals to show in link form to provide the evidence some people would accept. I would not only have to answer the questions I already know but also have the evidence and have time to look it up and post the articles and rumor mills. Find the threads and discussions. I am just not gonna go on that long wild Goose chase to prove Morey sucks when he is in his 3rd year in a row already of no playoffs to prove it. That would be too time consuming and useless waste of my time. Only to be met with more questions about each every evidence provided. So thats why I am gonna say he just sucks because that is where we are at for the past few years. Int his draft he has to prove he can move up instead of talking about it. Make a big trade. Unless his plan is to draft a player and stay put. Which I think is more of the same if he does.
It truly is impossible to present facts to you and get a point by point response. It seems that you are on some kind of emotional crusade. You post unbridled opinions and hope that the readers do not understand that you are posting your case totally unsupported. I have tried to work with you, to give you a chance to respond to specific counter-arguments to no avail. I am done.
if we get the 8th pick, we could package lowry with the 8th,, 14th and who knows what we could get with it ?!!?
From everything you hear or read it seems more likely now that Toronto uses their pick on either Waiters or Lillard.
i'd pray that that'd be enough to get dwight. if you were portland, would you offer aldridge and 6th/11th?
Really would. E a great deal for Toronto. Maybe he's worth the 8th...in fact if say he was not a Rocket and this were say us having to chose to pay ur num one draft choice or get a proven shooter 20 ppg guy, coming off a bad season u can say coach issues and injuries hampered maybe?-so he's a very valuable expiring contract...so turn the page and would you trade say our 14 pick for Martin of course playing devils advocate and think of him how we thought of him in SAC. I think it's fair to say the deal might be a good one BC it is expiring.... Tor also would love to wipe out that and maybe get out from say a Calderon contract
...and Lowry is worth a top ten pick guys but why does TOR want a Pg? When they have Calderon....unless they are ridding of him they don't want Lowry
I just want to point out a few things .... kinda clarify others when it comes to Morey. He's made some very solid moves: Brooks for Dragic and a #1. T-Mac turned into Jordan Hill , the NY pick this season and the Dallas pick via the Lakers. Moving Battier while taking a shot on Thabeet in itself was not a big deal , but they got a #1 pick along with Thabeet which turned into Motejunas if Im not mistaken. All solid moves , while not blockbusters or franchise altering , they were moves franchise building moves for the long term. Each one leaving the team better off than before the transaction. His two mistakes since taking over as Rockets GM - Ariza which he resolved quickly and got a good player in C.Lee to boot. Cant complain about the end result. TWill for a lotto protected pick .... Was a low risk high reward move that didnt pan out. As for his "Impairment" to making the big move ..... There are lots of things you have to consider. Amare without a physical. How much time has he missed since and what kinda albatross contract does he saddle the Knicks with?!? I wouldnt have done that deal without him passing a physical with his injury history being what it is. Bosh - He tried , but ... I'd have gone to play with Lebron and Wade too if I were presented with the opportunity - Thanks for the Ipad. Carmelo Anthony .... Again he made a fair offer but Melo wanted what Melo wanted. NY and Amare in hopes they could compete with the Heat. Had a deal on the table for Dwight Howard , only Howard would rather stay in Orlando than be traded to Houston. Hade a deal done for Gasol with Nene in his back pocket .... only to be cockblocked by Stern. Made a significant offer to Utah for Deron Williams only to be trumped by the Nets. Chased CP3 for at least two years .... The things you have to consider - It takes two to tango , he cant make a deal without the other GM approving of the transaction. Get a better deal elsewhere , you are going to take it. If star players have a specific destination in mind .... thats where they end up as their current team cant get any value to a team that they wont extend with. If all else fails - Stern with get in your way. Lets not forget Les Alexander wants to keep as many asses in the seats of Toyota Center as possible , selling those $8 beers .... Finishing ~.500 , picking 14th multiple times is a better option than blowing it up and taking your lumps. Bash Morey all you want .... But I think you are barking up the wrong tree.
Calderon has one more year on his contract and is making $10.5 mil. He's the highest paid player on that team. Toronto has explored moving him many times before. They reportedly have interest in Lowry, who is locked up long-term for half that price. Also, moving Calderon's salary may open up cap-space for TO to aquire other players of need. Lowry IS a viable trade asset for dealing with Toronto.
Some of you are irrational fools for following the same common beliefs that get you nowhere. So you deal with irrational people by posting to them in ways they understand. Which is your view has not worked for years. Its my view that this new direction for Morey to move up in the draft or make some big trades to finally come about to fruition or receive flak over his lack of production. Its that simple now about 3 years too late.
AND YES MORON! My position is absolutely supported! Take a look at Morey and this teams track record you buffoon!! Its right in front of your eyes!
I've got no dog in this hunt, and I don't know if there's some history between you guys, but emotional rants like this make it hard to read you as rational and objective. I was following you up to a point, but you just lost me here.
Yes we do have history. A history of them saying the same things and then being irrational to anyone who opposes their views for years on Clutchfans. I am glad you asked. It gave me the opportunity to explain why these people have been getting owned on their veiws lately. Its because the points they made have been failures for 3 straight years and pushing it on the rest of us in the same fashion I just responded to them. Now the tables have turned. They have been wrong for so long its time to hear another point of view like DD, some rookies, you, or others. Not these guys placing Morey on a pedestal and backing every move like it was the best ever if it ends up failing.
