If you watched him in college, you would easily tell that he's just flat out on another level than everybody else. Granted, I might be bias as the one game I saw in person was his UNC game winner, but he was clearly the best skilled athlete on the floor. Even more so than my beloved Harrison Barnes. And before someone chimes in, yes I did watch him in games besides that one -- but only once in person.

I don't buy too much into the 'selfish' knocks. Akeem Olajuwon was selfish. It's a lot easier teaching a selfish player to trust his teammates than it is to teach an unselfish player how to score.

Also, I don't really think he's that undersized. He's 6'5", that is not exactly a deal breaker. Wade was shorter (although bulkier); Eric Gordon is shorter; Bradley Beal is shorter and you don't hear about his height nearly as much.

I'm still shocked that he isn't ranked in the T10. If the Rockets come out of this draft with Rivers, I will be very happy. He's got the potential to be an elite scorer, which to me translates to being the "closer" everyone so badly clamors for.

I honestly don't even count Irving because he barley played on that team. Being injured in his Duke year was probably actually good karma for Kyrie.

Ok at 16. Would prefer Terrence Ross instead.

hell yes i would love it if we drafted him at 14. especially since its seems kmart will be gone, so Austin would be a solid back up or maybe starting SG for us. Plus he would give us some sort of media attention. Two things every team wants: super star talent and/or national tv games. Houston has had neither of those things for almost 3 years, so hopefully Morey can improve our roster incredibly this offseason.

    Love his competitiveness and cockiness.
His offensive skills are second to none in this draft.
Nice handles, great chance of pace, explosive double/triple moves to the basket and a sweet release on his shots.
His tendency to go right doesn't scare me off. The defenders still couldn't stop him.
He is a selfish player but we need someone who is hungry for the ball in pressure situations. Rivers relishes these opportunities.

If we get him at 14 it will be the steal of the draft.

If the Rockets can't move up in the draft, and Rivers is there at 14... I wouldn't be opposed to taking him. If they try to move up to take him, though, I wouldn't like it at all.

he isnt, but hes been a bball fan all of his life, and having a personal upclose view of a player every game gives him better knowledge of how hes going to do in a certain team situation.

just like how we know more about rockets than anyone else

Your friend being up close every game is the same as me watching every minute of every game on tv. . I've seen enough of Rivers to know that he'll at the minimum be a starter within the year.

Ya sure if he's there at...14. Not at 5 not at 8...at 14 yes...higher than pick 12 I would not. I add this thought bc the poll is asking would you at 14 (well he'll be gone before 14)-and I'm assuming morey will package the two first rounders (for financial reasons honestly, not just to move up to geta "better potential player" it saves the team money while we worry bout DMo and forgot about Lull who will be like draft picks)
-so if we stay pat and for some reason he's there at 14 with no trade in sight ya I'd take a dive on him
    -he will not bea superstar
-he may be a bit of an in between b/t say JJ Reddick and Steph Curry

It's different beast when watching the games in person.

To be fair to SuperBee's friend, only 3 of Rivers' 11 player of the game awards were at home.

A starter at min. By the end of the year hahaha friend is a homer...dude rivers' won't be taking CLee's minutes (if we re sign him)...Martin if still here he's not taking his minutes only bc Martin is being paid 12 mil and will be being shopped so he needs to play

Rivers is not going to be some savior guys he's undersized 2 ...they say he's 6'5...but he's a slender stubby 6'5-(what is his reach out of curiosity)
Love the kid's attitude in that video and in the clutch shot he took in UNC.
...but there is plenty of room to build on, I don't expect him starting for the rockets next year. IMO

Id say a good chunk of CF havent seen more than a handful of Duke games this year, even on TV. if you saw it then good for you!!! but I was referring to people who watch highlights and base decisions off of it... or CFers who buy into the major homerism-hype after somebody posts some highlight reel of a player

Best case scenario would be a bigger Mike Bibby.

Worst case scenerio would be a right-handed Delonte West, IMHO.
