Statistically, it's very unlikely. It would be foolish to put your money on 'yes.'

Morey has the chips to do something big this year. I think he will at least make one splash, maybe one of these two, or another player. Or, moving up and getting a top-4 pick.

Two players at such a level? I believe he is capable of pulling it off, but he is too risk-averse for it to be likely in any given year. I'll say, over the next five years, he will pull off three such deals.

I just don't see it, and without a really, really deep investigation into his back injury, I don't know that I would take the risk with Dwight. I'm sick of having "sick" superstars on the Rockets. A player has a serious potential health problem? One involving a ruptured disc in his back? It would take a lot for me to get past just saying no. Even to Howard.

I can't agree with this without wondering if Les doesnt have a part in everything morey does. If he doesnt then i guess its possible, otherwise it just seems like bad luck and the dumb les alexander who wont let us drop a season to draft...but thats just my opinion either way.

I think we will get both Dwight and Deron... until Stern cancels the Dwight trade due to basketball reasons.

    We'll get both or neither.

Obviously the likelihood is neither, but I have hope.

Give up the farm for Dwight and Deron will follow him here. A lot easier to fill in the role player pieces.

Well most likely he would come close but no. I just don't see Morey able to pull this off. He's been with the Houston Rockets since 2007 and he never really got a star on this roster. He did made a lot of good moves for good role players but never any big moves. If the Rockets don't get a game changing player next season, I say Morey's out. For the 3rd straight season, the Rockets are stuck in the same position with the 14th pick.

For the 3rd straight season, the Rockets are stuck in the same position with the 14th pick. I know the Rockets are the type of team that doesn't give up but that hurts them over the years. They played their hearts out but ends up short of the playoffs.

I think if the Rockets just tank for one season and let the young players develop, I think they would have a chance for the top 3 draft pick. Teams that the Rockets could easily beat years ago are now getting better than the Rockets. Like the Clippers, Memphis, T-wolves etc are all better than us, plus they have brighter future than the Rockets. If the Rockets don't watch out, the Cavs will be better than the Rockets and its hard to say but the Bobcats can be a better team in the future if they do good in the draft.

I watched the OKC grow over the years. They were horrible for a few years and throughout those years, they had high lotto picks and drafted very well. They ended up drafting Kevin Durant, Russel Westbrook, James Harden, and Serge Ibaka within a few years in a row and now they are a championship contender. That is how they got better. They didn't make big trades for a star nor sign a big player but they drafted the stars in the lotto and became very successful plus they put in a few good pieces around their young stars.

I don't see the Rockets having good enough pieces to trade for a game changer nor have the cap space to sign one. So I think they should just rebuild this team again and go young and let the young players develop and try to get a high pick. Because right now, the Rockets have a better chance of drafting a game changer than finding one in the NBA. If they game draft a star player, then other good players around the league would want to come and join them. No star players in the NBA right now wants to come play with a Luis Scola, or a Kevin Martin etc. The Rockets can't trade for one or lure one through signings so hopefully next season they can tank and get a high lotto pick.

I didn't vote because I do now want my hopes dash, but Morey will only be out of Houston, if he quits, or Les sells the team.

I think the majority of us believe that we have the "assets" to acquire Dwight. I haven't went over the numbers yet, but it seems that there could be enough cap space to sign Deron if we make the right maneuvers. It's a foregone conclusion that Dwight will be traded and Deron will follow. Pipe dream? Yes, definitely. Intriguing though, but what's new?

Something to keep in mind, if we somehow work a deal for Howard it would involve much of the same pieces that the failed Gasol trade did. Now in this case the difference would be the 14th and 16th picks. Would that be enough for the commish to deem it a fair trade and that Orlando is getting back enough potential young talent with the picks?

Heaven forbid we make the deal, Orlando accepts, and Stern veto's it. I couldn't think of a worse situation.

I think it's possible... no way is it likely. We would have to gamble on a non-committed Howard and then hope Deron follows because that's the only way Howard would be committed to Houston, IMO.

Hey, Stern messed up big time in that trade, but he did it because NO was involved. He's not going to repeat that if they aren't.
