Those were GREAT memories. Had just graduated high school; getting ready for college. With all the cr*p so many ppl talk about us not facing Jordan, our run in 1995 was really overlooked. Didn't we face like a record number of 60 win teams or something? And all the comebacks and drama. Seemed like I never thought a team I cheered for could be so clutch, since I had watched the Oilers choke after CHOKE in my youth. These Rockets really delivered when you invested in them as a fan. Loved those guys!!

A lil early on my dates but...it was a 60 win team in there but it was 4 teams with 50 plus wins (I believe all of those teams had 54 or more wins, and someone had 60 wins (SA I think?).....June 14, 1995 The Houston Rockets became the first sixth-seeded playoff team to win an NBA title, following a 113-101 Game 4 triumph over Orlando at The Summit. Houston also became the first NBA team to ever defeat four consecutive opponents (Utah, Phoenix, San Antonio and Orlando) in the playoffs that had won 50 or more games during the regular season. Houston and Orlando combined to set a Finals record for the most three-point field goals made (25), with the Magic sinking 14 long-range shots (led by five each from Anfernee Hardaway and Brian Shaw) and the Rockets hitting 11 (with Mario Elie and Robert Horry collecting four apiece).
Sweet memory! It illustrates all that is wrong with the current organization. That was the franchise at its best. Today we are so pathetically lost. There is almost a since of hopelessness. The Rockets must, MUST, MUST get out of basketball purgatory. There has to be a way out.
I agree but we did have two superstars miss season after season,and we held on to them until the chocolate melted. That's our problem now. I digress...Game one in the Orena was a test that the Rockets passed so well it demoralized Orlando. That was the best Orlando had and yet they still lost. That was the top of the Rockets as a team-they in no way ever down by 22, thought they'd lose. Kenny Smith deserves all time rocket just for this game, and he is fairly underrated comparing to PGs that have come through this town.
fully rebuilding aka 'tanking' is the way we have to go. Unfortunately, too many fans are afraid of being a basement dweller for a couple of years. I prefer that to being stuck in mediocrity.
