After we trade Lowry, we will need a back-up for Goran.

I'm not necessarily a big on height of a PF, either. If a guy an play, then he can play.

Problem, Thomas Robinson isn't exactly Charles Barkley. For the Bobcats, MJ needs Charles Barkley ... a younger version of Charles Barkley, rather.

If we somehow got Blake Griffin or Paul Millsap I think half this board would shut up about short power forwards.

millsap isnt a player to build around. and blake griffin has amazing athletcism which makes up for his height...i'd take him in a heart beat despite his flaws.

FYI - from an article I am working on:

    1. Youth matters. Teams who have high draft picks now are generally in a rebuilding mode. Trading superior 32 year old talent for a draft pick may help them win more games now, but is it enough to get them over the top? Most teams would be much better off with players who can develop along the same trajectory as their current young talent. And they know it. Winning more games is seldom the highest priority of a rebuilding team.

    2. Hope and Potential are very expensive words. And that pretty much sums up what high picks are. Hope and potential.

    3. Unless you have someone like a Harden to trade (along with other prized assets) the #1 pick is not ever available. For very good reasons. More about that later. Harden and Ibaka for Davis. Never going to happen … but wow if it ever did!!

    4. Lowry has some value in a trade for a higher draft pick. He is young with a great salary structure. Scola and Martin have very high salaries so a trade involving them would be extremely situational. And if they are traded for a draft pick expect back some serious deadwood sporting some serious salary. But generally rebuilding teams never want older talent. See #1.

Barkley was listed @ 6'6 but was 6'5 and change with a high BBIQ.

Maybe I should have used Kevin Love then. Love's 6'9.5" in shoes with a 6'11" wingspan, Patterson is 6'9.25" in shoes with 7'1" wingspan. Yet everyone would consider Love tall and Patterson short.

Do it and draft Robinson. He'll be the best big we have by the end of the season. That's not saying a lot, but we have too many players anyway. It's worth it, just keep Dragic and Parsons. Every one else isn't worth losing out on Robinson.

Which proves what i was trying to say... i dont care how tall you are, if you can ball than im game... size is overrated to me...

And by no means was i comparing barkley and t.rob... just citing an example of a great undersized pf...

    Patterson plays small.

Love is smarter, more skilled, and 10x's as nasty. I'll add these qualities to that quarter inch you mentioned.

Not sure if the Bobcats would want Lowry... I would think that would stifle Kemba Walker's development.

    Very true...

But judging a player by size is ridiculous... take the better player, not the lesser player because hes 2" taller

Kemba is more of a SG. Just in a PG's body.

What exactly did happen to the 6'10-6'11 players? Are they just rounding differently? I know in the 90s you'd see a lot more PFs listed at those heights...not so much anymore, especially 6'11.

And Patterson doesnt have the explosion Robinson has, which is why he went 14. He would have gone before #10, if he was that explosive and smooth off of his feet.

That's my point. People don't hate all short power forwards, they just hate OUR short power fowards.
