so you're saying you would have gotten out to fight the guy? riiiiight...
I took the path of least resistance my friend.
while the initial move was pretty douche, how would actually fighting the guy make it better?

In retrospect, I have actually cooled it down recently. Even though I have been in a couple situations which would have been best dealt with via water bottle...
I guess a cf shaming might have had something to do with it...

This is an attitude I just don't understand. People who drive slow are assumed to be stupid? Are you serious?

I used to carry marbles or full cans of drink in my car. When some hoon wanted to be an idiot, I just alley ooped a handful of marbles or a can onto his bonnet.

A bricklayer once threw his trowel at me, just missed.

There are a few more, but...
I praise God I got saved.

I have this friend who does a Jekyll and Hyde when she gets into a car. She's a 5'2" ~100lb white girl who's one of the nicest person I know, but as soon as she drives, she curses like a sailor and honks at anyone that changes into her lane less than 2 car lengths ahead. I don't think I've ever remembered her cursing when she wasn't driving.

The thing that sets me off the most are people on bicycles that seem to think just because they are on a bike they do not have to stop at a stop sign.

YES that is HORRIBLE here on woodlands parkway. they ride in the lanes instead of the bike lanes and back up trouble. I wanted to blow my head off during the iron man comp.

What's worse are the cyclists who sneak up on your right to get to the front of an intersection. If you ride on the road, traffic rules apply to you guys too.

Driving to work like I normally do and nothing out the ordinary until I got off 59/exiting Grand Pkwy. As I proceeded to drive to my exit in an orderly fashion, The guy in front of my lane decided to just slow down and brake as I wasn't quite sure why since I wasn't tailgating him in any way shape or form and I just got off the exit. So I tried to pass him up thinking maybe he was drunk, then he hit the gas again and swerve to not let me pass him up. Wasn't sure what was going on at this point so I passed him over again successfully and pulled over to the Mcdonald's parking lot to see if he was going to follow me in which he did to my surprised. I rolled down my window, confused and the guy begin to shout at me from his car saying, "If you pull that **** behind me one more time, I'll blow your ******g head off." Then he drove off. At this point I wasn't scared for my life but just confused at what the hell was going on? A random act of road rage on an unexpected driver, not cool man. Not cool at all.

My sister came up to visit me in Austin a while back, and, while she was here, she took two of my kids up to the Shipleys to get the donuts in the morning. While she was in line this guy cut in line in front of the drive through. She honks at him, he gets out of his truck (where his wife and kids are), my sister gets out of hers too, he tells her to get back in her car, she gives him a piece of her mind, he then reaches into his truck and gets a gun. My sister got back in her car -- but, this mother f**ker pulled a gun on a young woman and two kids over a spot in line for donuts.

The person in front of my sister (and, after he cut in line, the gun guy) felt bad for her and paid for her donuts though.

On our way back from San Antonio to Houston after a weekend camping, my friend who was driving the SUV was cut by a truck while we were on the passing lane. My friend was so mad and he started tailgating the truck very closely and my other friends didn't like it. He didnt' listen and won't listen. He was putting all of us in danger. I was so pissed as well so I took my gun out from my bag and told him to get closer to the truck so I can shoot them.

    He slowed down.

    Reverse psychology. :)

A guy on a phone in an suv pulls over out of the fast lane for me, or so I thought, but apparently it was just a temporary swerve because he suddenly tried to swerve back in when I started passing. I yielded into the left shoulder, but instead of slowing down & getting back in the lane behind him, I just continued to accelerate past him in the shoulder then got back in the lane in front of him. He rode my bumper, flashing his lights and honking etc. Wouldn't move on when I pulled over to the next lane, then the slow lane, followed me about 10 more minutes off an exit and into a mcdonald's pkg lot. I was hoping he'd just tell me off then leave, but he gets out of his suv and starts walking to my truck saying I'm about to get my ass kicked. Different circumstances maybe, but holding a pistol in my lap my priority had to be avoiding any confrontation coming to a head at all costs, so when he got close enough to me and far enough from his suv to make it back in time to resume chasing, I burned off, with him yelling "yeah you better run" among other things. Should have just kept driving and called the cops anyway, but I was late for work, and definitely didn't want to bring him there.

The same place (i45 clear lake) but much later at night, I was completely alone on the freeway except for a pack of sports bikes who came out of nowhere behind me. They completely surrounded my truck and slowed down together forcing me to slow down with them, to about 40-45mph. Then they started doing tricks super close to my truck for a little while until they all zoomed off together again and were gone. This didn't even make me rage until later, because in the moment I was more afraid than anything that one of them would mess up a wheelie and die under my tire. All their word against just my claim with no other witnesses, if they said I tried to power through or something I'd probably go to prison.

I did something similar as with the suv above but to a motorcycle, and my fault- I mistakenly thought he was letting me pass, because he was going slow in the fast lane, and got all the way over to the line leaving the lane open for me, so I passed. But they have 3 one-third lanes within a lane, and he was just in the extreme end of his right third. So after I passed, he stopped and picked up a rock or something, chased me back down, waited til I exited, then hit my truck with the rock & sped off on the freeway. Well played.

Me too, especially now. My problem was, despite the above stories, I generally followed etiquette too strictly, so when others don't follow it at all, it intensified my frustration. NOw, I've since given up. I won't actively get in someone's way like you & swoly do to regulate dirvers, that's just asking for trouble & i just want to be away from them, but I will go my speed in the fast lane (if only two lanes & i'm significantly above the limit), unless someone is coming up behind me fast enough so that it's obvious they're going to actually pass when I pull over. Because the worst is when you're in the right lane, or get over into the right lane to let someone coming up behind you pass, then they only get parallel to you and slow back down to your speed trapping you in the right lane approaching slower traffic ahead, or merging feeder inlet etc. Can't beat them join them.

I never would have guessed this about swoly-d.
