You could take this line of thinking further and say killing the Koch brothers still won't make a difference, because other rich people would continue the same trend. Trying to subvert the government has been around for as long as civilization. It's in people's nature to try and horde their own wealth even at the cost of others.

The US had a good run with a few decades of large middle class and very nice income distribution. But it's not reverting back to historical norm of the wealthy being very wealthy and everyone else not so much.

Everything I said was true. The super-uber-ultra-wealthy who subvert the national interest and make all of us suffer solely for their own enrichment are destroying the United States, and we would all be better off if they disappeared.

We can't appeal to their better natures, because they've mistaken their greed for their better nature. We can't appeal to their sense of fair play because they have none. We can't appeal to the history of this country and the sanctity of our one-person/one-vote system because they see it as an impediment to raping us of our livelihoods. We would all be better off if they died.

Believing that this is somehow "just the way the world works" is a betrayal of the once-great promise of this country. I guess it might have been bull**** all along, but I'm not willing to accept this even if it is, historically, the way things have always happened. It's only the way things have always happened because no society has ever stopped it.

Actually, a lot of people have tried to stop it in varying degrees. Communism being the most drastic, fairly socialistic countries like Canada and some parts of Europe too.

But to think Americans would prevent such a thing is ludicrous. We are brought up with dreams of being anyone you want, with freedom to do what we want, and the idea that anyone can be rich if they're capable. Regulation and reining in individuals/businesses runs contrary to the ideals of Americans. The Cold War pretty much cemented this line of thinking by making out any socialist ideals to be pure evil.

God, the butthurt. Typical of extremists - you proclaim the supremacy of the people, and then when they give you an election result you disagree with? Well **** them, I know what's best for the country, and if that means destroying the rule of law in this country, then so be it. No different from a bunch of plantation owners who freaked out 150 years ago when a tall man with a stovepipe hat became the President.

Besides, why don't you go be the martyr for your great revolutionary cause?

This election, to me, is just another example of how our government has been bought out from underneath us. I'm not interested in destroying the rule of law, I'm interested in laws that don't favor a miniscule percentage of the population at the rest of our expense. The rule of law has been changed multiple times over the past 30 years to favor those who already have power, and it's been done to the rest of our detriment.

I'll say it again - we would all be better off if the ultra-uber-wealthy who buy our elections disappeared.

And yeah, the only people being enslaved here are people like you and me... but keep ****ing that chicken.

So, is your point "this is going to keep getting worse, and there's nothing we can do about it?"

Well, if you know a plausible way to do it, I'd be happy to hear it. Because my limited mind cannot think of anything.

Yeah ... I'm sort of in the same boat, that's why I hope for things. I keep thinking that eventually enough people will get sick of the bull**** that it will make a difference ... but I'm not sure that will ever happen.

And that's why I feel the problem runs deeper than Koch Brothers or any other individual you can name. Or even any organization like Fox News or the Tea Party. Take away any of these things and the problem will still persist.

Are you saying the problem lies with certain ways of thinking or with America's last Golden Calf?
