So 5 points from 8:37-8:00 minute mark isn't included b/c they were a few seconds out of your defined "crunch" time? And 2 points within the last minutes (which is in your "crunch time of 8 minutes") don't count. I see.
I think you like to use 82games' clutch definition. And it's < 5 points difference under 5 min. So 2 points is counted but it's obviously nothing to write home about.
If you want to do it that way, LeBron was 4-15 in second half yesterday. It's the reason they lost game 5.
3 years in a row. LeBron's team ran into a lesser team as the overwhelming favorite, had the HCA and got beaten. He's now on the verge of another upset. Name one star player in history that's as choking?
Ohhh nooeess. All this ragging on Lebron is making plutoblue11 an even bigger fan. We'd better desist immediately or our manhood might be called into question once more.
McGrady, Dirk (before last year), KG (before Boston). Besides McGrady, the other two found success late in their careers. Who knows, maybe the same will happen to LeBron.
What's baffling is Lebron is actually dominant and efficient on both ends in these playoffs. Regardless, I hope he finds new ways to improve his game and bring it to new heights. Apparently, what he has been doing isn't good enough. He's still 27. The guy loves basketball, so I'm sure he'll come back better and stronger next year. This guy is too good to have a legacy like this.
I doubt LeBron will get any better. This is his peak season. It's flatline and slow decline from now on, but his championship window will last a very long time. He needs a better coach and better team to get the job done. For example, after Dirk peaked out, he unexpectedly got his championship 4 years later. LeBron really messed up by not coming through against the Mavs last year. That may end up being his best chance with the Heat. Perhaps his third team will be a charm. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
One, I'm not obsessed with hating the dude. He's just another person to me, but I'm not the one making any nitpicking post or threads about how horrible he is. Most of all, as big of a doucheb@g Lebron was or is, I highly doubt alot of most his haters are any less douchey. Notice, I haven't said one negative or positive thing about Lebron James. Lastly, you still sound like a big ole queen dragging her foot against the hot pavement. Ragging, like five year old girl, I agree.
As choking? LeBron is doing all he can, to try and win games. If you want someone to blame, look to Wade / Miami's bench / the absence of Chris Bosh. LeBron is averaging something like 30 points/game, right? Along with 7-8 rebounds and 4-6 assists? Sure, it's easy to look at LeBron going 4-15 or whatever, or passing it away instead of taking the final shot. But without LeBron, Miami probably wouldn't even be in the ECF. If "choking" is going for 28/7/6 in a single night, then what do you call a statline worse than that?
LeBron's "choking" in the 2nd half is exhaustion IMO. He has to shoot almost all of his bullets in the 1st half on both ends of the floor to keep the Heat in the game. If I'm the Celts, I don't mind LeBron going 22/6/6 in the 1st half if it remains is close. He'll finish 30/9/9 but end up losing.
No doubt that was a horrible thing to say. People get cocky. I know people who make peanuts comparatively that say stupid caste system ish like this. He's young and stupid. Is it worse than what Shaq said about Yao? Maybe. Maybe not.
You were the one who said "He's done everything and anything humanly possible to help win a basketball game". If he didn't score in the last 8 minutes, I'd say you were wrong.
Those guys were favored to win 3 years in a row? I know Garnett was the 8th seed most times in his career. McGrady was only favored once, against Utah. I know Dirk was upset by GS, but I don't know if he was taken down any other times when he was the favorite. Even so, poor rebuttal.
