This is what I've been saying all along. Thank you.

Often times the Thunder win in spite of Westbrook. Not because he's making smart decisions especially in crunch time and carrying them to wins. I can't count the numerous number of times Harden has bailed out his backcourt buddy and I'm not just talking about the last game.

The Thunder clearly will have to make some decisions. If I were the Thunder, my core would be Durant, Harden and Ibaka. Westbrook would be the odd man out.

he's a good offense player for sure, and he's willing to plays some defense and I guess that's good thing, he's just not good at it, an average defense player at the best, whenever he failed his defense assignments, either Durant had to pick up the slack or they lost the games. I don't have the problem to pay him max if we have money, just need sign a Durant too to cover him.

So you would pay Joe Johnson max? Rashard Lewis max? Gilbert Arenas max? Obviously this organization is willing to pay the max, but only for a true superstar.

Even though the Rockets get the knock of being a fruggle team on this board at least, and Les being a cheap owner, I dont think there is a question in my mind that they wouldn't pony up and offer Harden the max.

Harden is a star in the making. There is no question in my mind. If they are offering the max to the likes of Bosh, M. Gasol, and soon to be Hibbert, then its pretty much a given they would offer him the max and not think twice.

The question is really whether or not the Rockets consider him a star they can build around. If the answer is YES, they do it in a heartbeat. If the answer is NO, they pass.

Unless you have been living under a rock you would probably agree that Harden is a star despite playing with two other stars. There is no question IMO that he is someone you can build around.

The only question is whether the Rockets front office agrees with me or not. We might never know that.

Seriously? Max for Harden? Is he on the same level as LBJ, Wade, Melo, Rose, Durant or Howard?

Let me ask you this question, is Manu worth a max contract? is Terry worth a max contract?

I'd rather be proactive than reactive in this instance.

$11MM - $14 MM is an ok range, but the problem is he cannot be your only star.

He is a one dimensional player, good scorer but a lability on the defensive end so I don't think he is worth max...personally don't think Johnson is either but at least he can d up...I would pay around what we pay for Martin maybe go 15 tops but for a guy who hasn't even put 20 per game much less play d it is too risky to go max...not saying I don't think he is a good player but max should be for superstars IMO

Superstars are worth way more than the max. The max is stupid. Guys like LBJ, Wade, etc. should be paid way more than the max which would prevent superstars from banding together.
