Prokom lost 84-81. Awful game by D-Mo. Couldn't do anything right today. Got torched on D a few times. Couldn't hit a shot. Turned it over a lot. Rushing his moves. Energy level seemed to drop as the game went on. Lazy effort on D at times. Had a couple of really poor layup attempts (Patterson-itis) again.
Very dissapointing to hear... usually your analasys is optomistic with what you viewed as weaknesses... to hear such an analysis as this one, and in a big game, makes me worried...
Heads up, D-Mo will play his last game of this season today. Polish League Finals Game 7 starts in 40 minutes (12:30PM ET). Live stream: http://195.245.213.199/Ch0001
That's what I'm here for . D-Mo is tuned in today. First 8 minutes recap (much of it applies to the whole 1st half): Lots of energy from the get go. Hit two early threes. Made a pretty nice spin-move to avoid the defender in a 2on2 transition situation. Had a nice pass out of the double team. Kept his man of the glass. Crashing the offensive boards. Played good pick&roll D, rotated well and was in good help position. Still needs to work on his post D and close-outs (what else is new).
Yeah, I saw your post (thx, again), but didn't set an alarm and lost track of time. anyhow, the link is very choppy today -- stopping and starting constantly. Can't really watch it. Maybe second half is better.
Prokom wins it 76-68. Congrats to them. D-Mo wasn't quite as terrific in the 2nd half as in the first half, but still had a good game overall (23 points [9/16FG 2/3 4/6], 11 rebounds). Settled for a bit of a rushed long two in the 3rd, which isn't a great shot (for him). Again made a nice pass out of the double team. Was missed by his teammate in transition once. Late in the 3rd some guy for whatever reason was mad that D-Mo committed a foul, instead of allowing him an easy layup and pushed D-Mo in the back after the play. He probably hit him hard enough to fall down, but D-Mo went to the ground like he just got hit by a car. Flagrant 2 was called and the guy ejected. When D-Mo went to the bench the other team went on a pretty big run (10-0ish). D-Mo came back pretty quickly, but didn't get the ball at first, which seemingly got him mad and led him to yell at his teammates. He then scored two pretty big buckets to stop the momentum. Also had a good close-out in transition, which turned a wide-open 3 that could again have turned the momentum, into a contested miss. Went strong the basket with about two minutes left, get blocked, but stuck with it and scored on the second try.
Yep. Not undeservedly, but you probably could have given it to either guy. Both had their ups and downs in this series. Blassingame probably played better throughout the playoffs.
congratulations to d-mo and his team! can't wait to see him in a rockets uniform next season. hopefully he won't dissapoint.
