True The difference between Kobe and T-Mac was EFFORT T-Mac might have actually been more talented but Kobe worked harder hell . . Paul Peirce seemed to work harder than T-Mac [Peirce dragged his Boston Antoine Walker team to the finals at least] I ain't saying Lebron doesn't play hard but . . .something is just missing Kobe has it The MJs had it Paul Peirce had it T-Mac didn't have it . . . Domminique Wilkins didn't have it . . . Jury still out on LeBron Rocket River
seems to me that the only people who still bring up the decision are the lebron fanboys, you people do realize that he wasn't really liked before that show right?
I get so tired of people parroting Lebron's excuse for "The Decision" that he did it to donate money. Dude has hundreds of millions of dollars, he could've easily donated some of his own money and skipped the arrogant, "look at me", dis to all of Cleveland spectacle that it was. Add in the "not 1, not 2, not 3..." and you just have a really unlikeable person, the hate he gets he brought on himself 100%.
^I see that you're following the guide to hating Lebron. Blah. Blah. Blah. You guys would want him on the Rockets. You're not a Rockets fan if you wouldn't. Period.
I'd like Darth Vader if he were on the Rockets. That's irrelevant. I would have rooted for Karl Malone had he been drafted by the Rockets. I'm from Houston, thus I'm a Rockets fan. He's not a Rocket. He wouldn't be a Rocket because there were no superfriends for him to join up with. That's part of the whole point, sammy.
That's the problem with Lebron. He talks too damn much and extremely overhyped. All these other players you mentioned were "self-made" legends. They earned it with their game. Lebron? He was anointed "King" before he even took a single shot in the NBA. It's as if it's a given that he'll be the GOAT without having won a single ring. The rest is history right? We know how his career has been thus far. True, he still has a lot of miles ahead of him. But really, despite his freakish athleticism, he lacks that heart and clutch skills of the greats such as MJ, Kobe, Magic, Bird..etc. This is why there is so much hate. When you've been anointed the KING, THE CHOSEN ONE, and you act like you're all that, you better BACK IT UP. If not, expect hate like never seen before from the fans, the media and your worst critics.
But he's a choker to most, right? Why would you want him on the Rockets? My point is that you don't have to like him for the way he handled "the decision". You don't have to like the Heat for the premature party they put together. But you do have to respect his game and recognize that he is easily the best all-around player in the league. I blame Riley for poorly constructing this team around the Big 3. DM would have knocked it out of the park to the point where it wouldn't have been fair. Riley didn't account for Bosh getting hurt. Boy could they use Marcus Camby right about now.
He may be the best basketball player...but what does it ultimately mean if he doesn't win rings? That's the point of all of this. No one is arguing that he's anything but MVP...it's what the entire body of his career means stacked up to the legends he gets compared to aside from a nice stat line that makes people question/doubt...and it's all the "chosen one" (and all that has gone with it) crap that makes people not like the guy in the midst of all that.
LeBron James takes more heat for losing than the Miami Heat. Most of all, the Heat can still win this series, honestly I'm not a big believer in Boston.
What is this that we're all the sudden not allowed to hate opposing players without being accused of being jealous? Hating certain players/teams is part of the fun of being a sports fan. Why is it all the sudden such a taboo? I hated Karl Malone and John Stockton. Would I have hated them if they played for the Rockets? Of course not. But they didn't, so I hate them. And I don't think I should have to apologize for it.
Who is to say he won't win any rings? He is only 28 years old. Many of the great players in our history didn't win any rings until their early 30's including our own legend. The guy still has many great years left and more often then not a player of his immense talent ends up figuring it out sooner or later. Until then enjoy the ride because he is the best player in the league right now.
Lebron also came in at 18 don't look at age. look at seasons played in those knees. His drive to the basket is what makes lebron lebron. he is just scared to do it at the end of games. Very Athletic, maybe the most ever. It won't last 4ever. HIS JUMP SHOT IS HORRIBLE.. MJ and Kobe had to have the jumper to have long careers. Heck even look at KG at 36? His jumper has looked great.
Being a "fan" of a team or a player means you take some joy in their success. When they are monumental d-bags, this makes it very difficult. I don't care how good Lebron is (and he is very good) I can't fathom how anyone not living in Florida is his "fan". And yes this is because of The Decision. There is nothing wrong with moving on to another team. There is something very, very wrong (almost sociopathic) with ripping the hearts out of your home town fans on national tv to stroke your own ego just a little bit more.
^Oh and the way Gilbert reacted wasn't whack? Lebron re-signed with the Cavs. They put average talent around him and he bounced. Of course, he should have left quietly and more professionally. That's a given. He was like 25 though. A lot of us might have done the same thing. The scrutiny gets annoying. Especially from annoying guys like Skip. He is 27. Jordan, Hakeem, Dirk, and KG were all older when they got theirs. It's just amusing to see claims like he'll never win one EVAR1!!!1! I've always rooted for Eastern Conference teams. I hate the Lakers, Mavs, Spurs, and Jazz with all my heart. I rooted for Nash and the Suns. I like the Thunder. That's where it starts and ends for me as far as rooting for any WC team not named the Houston Rockets.
Apparently Hitler had good manners, too. So what? Just because LilBron hasn't hit someone, been arrested, caught cheating on his wife, etc.; just because he passes to his teammates (wtf?), we are supposed to celebrate him? I don't care about the decision. I don't care if he chokes. I don't care what he does. I don't hate him. I also don't love him. I refuse to have fanboys and slacker, one-sided media dictate to me that I have to gloss over the fact that he is an entourage-toting, entitled man-child. What is unlikable about LeBron is not what he has or hasn't done (accidents), it's his attitude, his personality, his image, the core of who he is as a person (essence). He would probably be less likable if his accomplishments were greater because his general douchiness would just be magnified. If you love him because he can dunk, great. However, you can't deride someone for disliking him for dancing. Get over it. He wants all of the control and none of the responsibility for the results, unless they're positive. I can't abide that attitude. It's chicken ****.
As an aside, when did our collective morals dip so low that we have to praise an individual for just meeting the bare minimum requirements for being a decent citizen? He hasn't punched a valet. He (finally) married the mother of his children. Oh really? Holy crap! I see the Nobel Committee coming. Give me a break!
