Scholarships for sports are earned they aren't based on their parents income. If you told me he recieved a government grant to pay for his tution that would be a whole different story.

Plano had a 4.0/5.0 (AP) scale..... Are you kidding me - a 5.0/6.0 scale? Every highschool in Texas that I've ever heard of used that scale.
How tall is his son? Pdiddy is like 5'7 or 5'8 and his son looks to be about 5'4 or 5'3. He must have some mad skills to not only be able to compete at that height but also be deemed scholarship-worthy.
Why randomly? How about they offered him a scholarship - as did several other schools - because they thought he was a good football player, just as they do with around 25 other kids every year? Some of those are poor, some rich, some in-between. What makes this one different?
A simple 5 second Google search tells us that he's 5'9", which is pretty normal for a college cornerback.
To be fair, I don't think the sparse criticism is because he's rich, but because he's Diddy's son. It think it's a celeb people don't like factor, like if a Kardashian got a scholarship. I could be wrong.

I cant believe people are actually mad at a person who accepts a scholarship, regardless of their family. Get over it, there is so much more things that people should focus on, not a rapper's son.
The problem is that it's a merit-based scholarship and you can't just give your football scholarship or abilities to someone. If it was just about the money, I would agree. The kid earned it, they obviously want him on the team over their other choices, let him keep it.
Son should accept the scholarship. It's perfectly fine. Rich people often get rewards for things so this is no different. It would be classy and noble if he gave the money back to go to someone else in need, but seriously, who does that?
WOW Just saw the kids highlight tape. No way he's 5'9 and no way he's a division 1 player. His name got him where he is. His "highlight tape" just shows him giving up passes and then using horrible tackling technique to bring the player down....A total joke.
I don't really like Diddy at all but there should be absolutely no outrage for his son accepting a scholarship that he EARNED on his ability.

Think about it, you come from a lower income family, bust your butt on the field hoping to win a scholarship and then find out you came in second to Puff's son. ANd you're telling me the first thing out of your mouth would be, "yeah, he deserves it" BS I say.
If the kid can't play, what possible motivation would UCLA have to give him a scholarship? It's not like they have unlimited scholarships/roster spots to give away. Do you think this is a publicity stunt or something? As if UCLA (one of the most recognizable schools in the country) needs extra publicity from giving a scholarship to the son of a rapper most people didn't even know had a son.
Think about it, you come from a wealthy family, you continually bust your butt to try and create your own path in lfie, but you keep getting rejected because your family has too much money. Even though you bust your butt training and in the classroom, you are always known as 'celebrity X's child'. You eventually give up and just decide to live off of dad's money.
