If I give you the ability to get any player drafted in the past 2 drafts(our two drafts since making the 2nd round with Yao/Artest), can you obtain a Kevin Durant for me? You may pick ANY PLAYER from the past two draft. Suppose the Rockets went 0-82 both seasons and obtained the #1 pick in each draft. Please, find me our own Kevin Durant.

I think the Repubs are starting to cut the funding for said clinic. Hasn't been running the way it was before.

Yeah that was pretty funny. Whatever happened to "Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill"?

It could also be shaq was entering the prime of his careers and kobe wasn't 17. The spurs whole system is dictated on getting some lucky ping pong balls twice. What if the Celtics had won that draft. Rick Pitino might be considered a great NBA coach instead of just a great college coach.

The Thunders nucleus is three top 5 picks.

I brought up Phil jackson because that idiot decided to bring up the triangle offense and how it didn't work in minnesota. I threw it back in his face and brought up how the triangle offense and Phil Jacksons system has won 11 championships. We all know the players are the ones that go out there and play but before Phil was there those teams weren't winning championships and that should be acknowledged.

You have added absolutely nothing to this thread. At least the others who have disagreed with me in regards to my claim of the spurs not having a true superstar or being a great franchise have brought up counter arguments.

I understand you post here quite a bit and have plenty of rep points but so far i am very unimpressed with your inferior childish arguments. I was under the impression people with all those rep points provided something insightful to this forum...i guess i was wrong.

Which is substantially more than you have added to the Rocket's fanbase.

Turn in your moniker, and get to stepping.

your own argument is that it's the system more so then the players. But here's a simple question that you should answer.

how many rings did phil jackson win without Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant?

How many rings have either of those two players won without Phil Jackson? 0 .Players have to execute but the system does have an important role. The same lakers team that got swept in the playoffs by the Spurs went on to win 3 consecutive championships once Jackson got there. He has done it with 3 different sets of players. MJ and Pippen, Shaq and Kobe, Kobe and Gasol. Did he often have the best players? yes, but stop and think for a second that those players were not winning championships without him.Its not only the system, but also his ability to adjust the system according to personnel and to make high ego players like MJ and Kobe believe in the team and play better basketball as a result.

Its just that argument is flawed by its own points.

There are no stars on San Antonios roster? Absurd point 1
They did not tank to get Tim Duncan? Absurd point 2
They did not have stars around Tim Duncan? Absurd point 3
They did not build through the draft as so many who are pro rebuilders want Morey to do instead of trades for role player depth? Absurd point 4

Agreed. To say that its only the players, or only the system is absurd. They both go hand in hand......the proof is in the pudding go ask Lebron James.

So basically you think it would've been awesome if the Rockets became the laughingstock of the NBA to be a poor-man's Clippers? Because Irving/Wall + Griffin/Monroe/Cousins would not be better than CP3/Griffin Clippers.

And I asked him who would've been the next Durant. None of those players come even close to Durant level.
